In this case not quite in this casel. He already had his bunkers and his followers, all he had to do was stockpile food and basically sit back and watch the world burn, from his bunker. Instead he chose to be a human rear hole.

no listen to the radio when you are in the car at the end .. the nukes were from world instability

the seeds had no nukes ..only bunkers to hide in

the reason MONTANA would be likely FIRST STRIKE SITE , is yep that is where the USA has many still classified as well as documented decommissioned Nuclear bases

they put them there as its a harder target to reach ..as in far from either coast

At the same time: Sells top secret base who was dealing with focking nuclear weapons to regular people make a house inside.

Also... this settles a doubt I always had since I heard about the ending.
First I was thinking that the Joseph's prophecy was self-fulfilling and that he was trying to make the world enter in a nuclear war (releasing the bombs in US to trigger a response).
But no... Looks like the guy was simply right and was just preparing for the end (with his overly twisted methods).

From the game perspective, it does appear that Joseph Seed was complicit in dropping the bomb. If one chooses an alternate ending, allowing Joseph Seed to walk away, unaccountable for his crimes, no nuclear device is detonated. The Deputy, the Marshall and a few loyal compatriots drive away, with a plan for Joseph Seed's future capture. Choosing to not arrest Joseph Seed, changes the outcome, excluding the onset of a nucular device.

Which alternative ending? The one at the start of the game or the end, the one at the start, you do not get to that part of the timeline yet. the bombs will still go off eventually. Joseph has no influence over them dropping or not. The one at the end, you all die, probably just before the first one drops.

Its not just the US, most countries sell off their old unused bases etc. While I have not seen any uk missile silo's for sale, I have seen bunkers/airfields/ammo storage facilities etc One such storage facility near me, got demolished for a new housing estate about 3 years ago)
