Game keeps crashing
After I start it up, it keeps crashing every 5 minutes. It should be noted that it almost NEVER did it before last time I played it. The only thing that's changed since then is that I have a new GPU (RTX 2060 Super). It worked fine on my GTX 970 before. It's the same PC I'm playing it on. Most notable is how the HDD seems to spin faster during the game. In fact, after it crashes, it shows my disk usage at 100% for a while before it goes down, with the "SysMain" process being responsible. Could it be because I have my pagefile fixed to 5 GB of system ram? I've read that setting it to "system managed" fixes the problem.

i have no idea if this is the root cause but is there a reason why you cannot try the potential fix?

Did you do a clean install of graphics drivers when you replaced your GPU?

Don't remember, but I solved the crashing issue by making page file system managed. I apparently still get the "autosave stutter" that apparently exists now (also didn't exist then when I played it last time). Seriously, how is an update that was meant to add "New Game+ and new difficulty" caused the game to have other issues that weren't present before? Must be the typical "Ubisoft buggy games" nonsense that almost all their games suffer from in one form or another.

You can remove a lot of the auto-saves (at least for picking up loot) with the Resistance Mod.

I've read about that. Thing is, I don't want the mod to change anything. I like the Far Cry 5 vanilla experience as it is. However, if the mod launcher has an option to fix the autosave bug WITHOUT loading ANY other mods, and still giving me the vanilla experience, then that would be great.

I'm pretty sure you can do exactly that, you select each individual mod, I've not got the game installed at the moment so hopefully someone else can confirm.

Update: Turns out I needed to restart computer to apply pagefile change. After that, it's never crashed on me again, and the autosave stutter bug is tolerable after changing some settings in the ini config. Now works like a charm, with even FPS in the 60-70 range.
