do followers ever get silencers?

i like to play it quiet and snipe guys from a distance not letting them know anyone has died near them, getting the bonuses when taking a base. The bow companions i have gotten cant shoot for S***. i got 2 long range and neither got a silencer or a skill that could count as one. so im wondering if its possible at all for them to be quiet?

You can get the silenced sniper rifle and a silenced side arm but you have to earn them . Some have accessories like longer mag and elevated scope along with the silencer . Happy hunting .

Sorry I wasn't clear enough before. My sniper already has a silencer too it. I ment for the long range companions that have the sniper symbol on them. Are there some companions who will unlock the silencer when they get their skills?

No, they never get silencers.

Although you can probably customise their weapons by using the resistance mod if you really want that.
Or just use Jess.

for most weapens, not all, the D%) pistol has no silenser,, but you can check that when you want t o buy a weapen, press TAB to toggle details. than you can see what upgrades there are for thast specific weapen

But for some reason you can even muffle shotguns and LMGs.

It sounds to me like you are just using people you find around, If you want a good stealth killer you can go with the combo of Peachs and Jess they are both good stealth killers or you could go with a Jess Boommer combo boomer for sighting and Jess for silent kills it is built into her kit that she one shots all but heavys and the Leaders
