I simply don't understand. You can get all the perks with one play- through and maybe on a 2nd play get the quests you missed if you moved through the resistance points too fast and killed a mini-boss too early,
How can anyone force themselves through this mostly linear quest progression game ame 5 or 6 times.....
Add 54 levels of boring to death arcade single player challenges, and join a mate for a 3 point prepper stash and you have 1 more perkpoint then you can spend.
Also curious how someone can force themself through this story more then once?!?!
.
I helped a mate a few hours yesterday, as he had given up after the staring island, since he hated the game.(one day after release)
I tried to give him a few fast perkpoints from hunting (skinning), then we continued his game..
Sadly he had started John's region, and have no gamepad for flying the horrible physics planes, and none of us wanted to continue after the first forced mission were over, as I knew he wouldn't be able to handle the useless plane in the chase.
I tried to convince him that the 'fun' started when the story were over.. not sure how to be able to convince him, as I forgot how much I hated the story interruptions.
(do you keep the perks if you run it again alone?!, if so what is the difference between that and NG+, except keeping the weapons?)
If one plays it as a linear quest, then it's going to be boring. Because I DONT play in a linear manner, it's not boring to me. I start off trying to get all 4 weap slots, play some favorite missions, experiment with weapons I havent used before, try takedowns, etc from different places, and of course, look for PITA spots and try to do the equivalent of nuking them. The main issues I have are the lack of support for joysticks, and planes that fly like bricks, and of course the climb vs bank glitch.
I played the original FC when it first came out. While it was a breakthrough, the series had (generally) improved vastly since then. At any rate, youre welcome to your opinion. If you don't like the game, go play COD or whatever. Actually, now that I think of it, if you hate the game so much why are you in the discussion for it?
As I told someone else, youre welcome to your opinion of the game. I disagree, and once I get over being ticketd at the douchebags who changed the time on that mission, I'll probably play it again, even if just to get the weekly challenges, and the arcade challenges.
Don’t forget all the challenges that earn you perks too.
I may have gotten only 1-2 perks with arcade, all the challenges and optional quests easily max out your perks in one play through.
One thing I can definitively say is that I have been getting perc points from Arcade play (as recently as yesterday), and as I said before I've played many many maps, so it's not the "Congrats, you've played your first 3 arcade maps" or something like that.

UPDATE: I just played another map as an experiment. When I got to lvl 16 I got a perc point, so it's apparently tied to progression in arcade.
