Spray n Pray mission changed recently, now almost impossible.
So I'm on my 5th or 6th play through. I wanted to do one more, get every missions, every perk, etc. My LAST thing to do is the Spray n Pray. Ive completed it before, at least twice, maybe 3 times, but this last run through it's obvious that theyve changed the mission. Aside from the glitch with climbing instead of banking, the time is more restricted. One MINOR mishap, a less than perfect turn, or the glitch where it climbs in mid-bank instead of banking, and the missions's a failure. I've tried about 15 times in the last few days, no success. Of course it would be easier if we could use joysticks, but no, BOOBOO soft doesn't support using flying controllers for flying missions. Guess I'm not going to finish this one.

I use a joystick. It still sucks.

I'm trying to read the OP but can't get past reading "5th or 6th play-through".....

I simply don't understand. You can get all the perks with one play- through and maybe on a 2nd play get the quests you missed if you moved through the resistance points too fast and killed a mini-boss too early,

How can anyone force themselves through this mostly linear quest progression game ame 5 or 6 times.....

You can't possibly get all perks from just one run.
Add 54 levels of boring to death arcade single player challenges, and join a mate for a 3 point prepper stash and you have 1 more perkpoint then you can spend.

Also curious how someone can force themself through this story more then once?!?!
.
I helped a mate a few hours yesterday, as he had given up after the staring island, since he hated the game.(one day after release)

I tried to give him a few fast perkpoints from hunting (skinning), then we continued his game..

Sadly he had started John's region, and have no gamepad for flying the horrible physics planes, and none of us wanted to continue after the first forced mission were over, as I knew he wouldn't be able to handle the useless plane in the chase.

I tried to convince him that the 'fun' started when the story were over.. not sure how to be able to convince him, as I forgot how much I hated the story interruptions.

(do you keep the perks if you run it again alone?!, if so what is the difference between that and NG+, except keeping the weapons?)

I've gotten all the missions, and side missions before, including the stunt crap. I didnt get all the perks because I finished the game too soon.
If one plays it as a linear quest, then it's going to be boring. Because I DONT play in a linear manner, it's not boring to me. I start off trying to get all 4 weap slots, play some favorite missions, experiment with weapons I havent used before, try takedowns, etc from different places, and of course, look for PITA spots and try to do the equivalent of nuking them. The main issues I have are the lack of support for joysticks, and planes that fly like bricks, and of course the climb vs bank glitch.
I played the original FC when it first came out. While it was a breakthrough, the series had (generally) improved vastly since then. At any rate, youre welcome to your opinion. If you don't like the game, go play COD or whatever. Actually, now that I think of it, if you hate the game so much why are you in the discussion for it?

As for getting all the perks from just one run, I had all the perks except for some of the 'this person comes back more quickly". . If you play it strictly to get to the end, then NO, you wont get enough points. If you experiment with different missions, try to earn money to get weaps you havent tried, have fun with ambushes (just like when I wore Uncle Sam's uniform), then yeah, you can get quite a few perks. Actually, speaking of story interruptions, I do STRONGLY dislike the unskippable cutscenes. But aside from that, I considered this game in the top 10 in the last decade. NOTE: I mainly do FPS, so if there's a freaking 'paint the unicorn game' that someone likes, ok fine, but that's not my style, so I dont play stuff like that.
As I told someone else, youre welcome to your opinion of the game. I disagree, and once I get over being ticketd at the douchebags who changed the time on that mission, I'll probably play it again, even if just to get the weekly challenges, and the arcade challenges.

I use a CH Flighstick Pro joystick, and it seems to works as in most other FPS games the last 20+ years.

I plan on getting one of those. Appreciate the tip. Cant afford it right now, serious health issues in the family, so it's a matter of priorities. For some reason trying to simulate one with a plastic spoon, an empty ammo box, some string, and a couple M&Ms for buttons didnt work. Maybe I didnt use the right color M&Ms?

I got all my perks during my first play through. Of course it helped alot by playing the arcade for 2 hours to get more points.

2 hours gave you how many points?

Don’t forget all the challenges that earn you perks too.

I may have gotten only 1-2 perks with arcade, all the challenges and optional quests easily max out your perks in one play through.

lol ok, so maybe I should get that game!! but I have made it thru before, a couple times. On this play-thru, the time seems to be shorter. Even if I dont hit anything I run out of time.

You can get perk points from Arcade play, I think the trigger is to complete the mission undetected, at least that's when I've gotten them on the abandoned warehouse map.

You get a perk point after doing a few single player maps. I haven't paid close attention, so I'm not sure how many maps.

That may be the case, but I've played MANY arcades, mostly single player, and on at least one map (Derelict?) Ive gotten at least 3 perk points that I can remember from finishing the map w/o being discovered. HOWEVER, on the same map (Derelict), I've finished it and not gotten perc points, so it may be X number of arcade maps per day, in a row, etc,
One thing I can definitively say is that I have been getting perc points from Arcade play (as recently as yesterday), and as I said before I've played many many maps, so it's not the "Congrats, you've played your first 3 arcade maps" or something like that.
========================
UPDATE: I just played another map as an experiment. When I got to lvl 16 I got a perc point, so it's apparently tied to progression in arcade.
