Arcade PvP up to 12 , 6 vs 6
FC5 isn't really the PVP game to go for, as that's the only way to get more then one person into it. Coop is really fun with sadly just one more person,, or rather Outpost Master is fun at least.. the story kind of.. interrupts itself.
5 Players might be hard to squeeze in, in most (good) coop game, actually can't think of any right now. 4 seems to be the magic number for good and working coop.
My kids a little young still so I'm not sure a military shooter is the best thing for them yet due to the realism. We all really enjoy Just Cause 3 since it's really just about having fun and I was hoping FC5 would allow that too since it's got planes and stuff.
We were considering Fallout 76 since that looks like it's going to be multiplayer and we really love base building but those new monsters look quite scary for children. The previous Fallouts don't have such monsters, not sure why they had to go that way.
If Subnautica had multiplayer it would have been the perfect game (we each own a copy) and Raft is decent enough. Factorio is of course awesome.
We're only 3-4 peeps, so any other options that might be good? At the very least we're looking for 3 person co-op.
Thanks!
I guess Dying Light also falls on the monster part, as no matter how worn out, boring and stale zombies have gotten.. things go kind of scary in the dark as they aren't the only ones hunding you then.
As I said, good coop shooter, or any non-platformtype of, coop games are pretty rare.
The Division (also a UBI-game) might be really fun if played as a team. It got nice settings, pretty easy to access.. but it's tutorial/prolouge is so long and so bad that you don't even know you're playing a tutorial.. I felt it really really grindy, yet I'm just just past the prolouge by some hours.
Some people love it, and it'll be a The Division 2 in a near future. I'm not one of the people who love it. 90% of the time you spend sitting behind a box, and peek out and shoot a little.. then next wave comes, being even more boring.. then chap and boring boss.. rinse repeat until you are lvl 30, then you grind for gear.. but you (and your team) have to extract with the loot, and can be killed by the rest of the players for the loot.
You mentioned planes, FC5 have the worst representation of plane physics in any game ever! Blue Max for the C64 were even better.. don't expose any kids for these planes, dumbed down to be easy(?).. but to the level of not actong like planes anymore.
The kids would probably never join you an a vacation if flight if included, or they will be put in a class of their own during Physics and Math lessions (not the better klass)
Much to think about, with all the hype around multiplayer the last few years I really thought it was going to be easy to find a game now that we started playing together.
No planes or vehicles but the Dino's more than compensate for it.
Thanks for the advice, I have looked into it but I don't want to expose my kids to griefers on an MMO. I want them to be able to just have fun on a closed server (like we have for Factorio and Raft, etc).
Ark isn't a real MMO. You can set up a closed server with Ark, or maybe Pixelark depending on the age of the kids.
Great, thanks for this, will definitely check it out :)
In all player-made levels (+ the games own levels) cam have more players added to the game and you can make your own characters + moves and save these.
You have to be ready to wath some youtube videos and fizzle a bit with some code, but it is all very much durable and even a bit fun and very educational in regards to easy progamming :)
It´s a fighter-parkour platform game, with both keyboard and controller options and also has a story-mode + many mini campaign and mods from Steam Workshop.
Hope this helps - my friend and I have enjoyed this game for years :)
PS you can "turn off blood" or change the color if it helps ;)
LoL, a colleague of mine plays Warframe, he showed it to us, now I can't stop mocking him for playing an tactical fishing game
It's 4-player co-op and more suited to younger players, despite it's sense of humour (and language) being a little 'risque' at times. So depends how old your kids are I guess.
But whatever way you look at it, FC5 doesn't seem to be the game for you...
