Personally I use a controller and tweak a few settings, turning off aim assist when possible and increasing analog look speed.

desktop, mouse and keyboard. i honestly never understand using a controller on pc (specially first person games which mouse and keyboard are pretty much made for) unless you come from being a console player in which cause i guess they are used to it with muscle memory

in the end everyones different

I want to learn how to use a controller but I just can't. I have to use a mouse and keyboard. I have tried for years and just can't aim with my thumb. I just can't do it, but with my M/KB I can have complete control over everything.

Since my early days in WOW I have a "ubiquitous" layout that I use for all games and just tweak it slightly depending on the game I'm playing.

1 is always pistols, 4 is always "bread and butter" (assault rifle) ALT is always crouch or sneak, mouse button 5 is always melee, mouse button 4 is something relating to specialized gear (fire mode for gun) Everything by this point has become muslce memory.

Mouse and Keyboard. It's how FPS games are meant to be played. It just feels so natural and smooth. I don't mind using controllers for fighting games, 3rd person, platform and console ports though. Wheel for racing games.

I'm old. The last console I owned was an Atari 2600. The controller only had a single stick and a single button. After that I went to PC and never bought another console, and never will. Never bothered to learn to use modern console controllers. KB&M are far superior to any controller for FPS games, for me.

I have no intresst in handicapping myself in games especially not in shooters by using a Controller.
So Mouse and Keyboard all the way

Keyboard and mouse except for flying in the game, then I use a controller. It's more natural for me to use the sticks for flying.

Not really a handicap if you have settings set up right. I found I am just as effective as my friend who was using kbm. I was sniping with a grenade launcher on one of the out post arcade maps while he was using a normal sniper rifle and I was taking dudes out all the way across that map quicker than he was taking guys out and I am not talking about splash damage kills I was hitting guys dead on, so it's a combo of setting an skill, but I will concede that most of the time mkb is accurate quicker for obvious reasons, but like I said I do fine with a controller and do not consider it a handicap. Also in some cases you have quicker access to some things on controller.

Have my PC hooked up to a TV and as long as I´m not playing competitive against other players it´s my precious Xone Controller all the way!Just much more comfortable to play on the Couch and I love having a Controller in my Hand.

Hate to break it to you your friend must be bad at using a mouse and keyboard if you are just as good as him on a controller?
.On mouse and keyboard you can remap keys so weapons have shotcuts etc so same thing at with a controller.
Moving a stick to aim can never be as accurate as just moving your hand.
Having said that great that you dont feel it handicaps you using controler compared to m/k.

Actually my friend is fairly good. Sorry to break it to you that you aren't good at using a controller in FPS games.
Keyboard and mouse cause like nvidia it's the way it's meant to be played.

I'm no expert. But I feel more comfortable using my Xbox One controller compared to KB&M. Controller feels more natural, and I'm less likely to accidentally press the wrong button. I understand the same argument can be made about KB&M. I suppose it's whatever you're used to. As long as you're comfortable, who gives a ♥♥♥♥! Whatever your input method is, you're gonna have a good time in Far Cry games. Just pick the one you're most comfortable with. Cheers!
