Hours of Darkness - Hard Mode not available from the start

You first have to play through the DLC to unlock Survivor Mode. Though this may sound like a nitpick it really annoys me. I like to play most games on hard difficulty and Far Cry 5 allowed to select whichever difficulty you like from the get go. A difficulty shouldnt be an unlockable. Now im considering to rush through the DLC just to start on hard again.

If you finished the main game, you start with being able to pick out of 3 difficulties. if you havn't finished the main game it will lock you into normal.

Thanks for the answer but the problem is, I already finished the main game and couldnt choose between 3 difficulties. It even says that 2 new difficulties will be unlocked after playing through the DLC once.

Yeah, I'm getting the same, I was wondering how I could change the difficulty in the DLC after finishing the game on Hard difficulty, does retarting the game make a difference? I'll give that a shot.

I am the same as well. so used to hard mode on the main game that it feels boringly easy on this DLC playthrough.

That's what I got. I finished the main game 100% and started the DLC in Survivor mode. I had all 3 choices. Must be a bug for some people

For me was like this: finished main game ( but reseted 2 times the Outposts- currently reseted...). After that started the DLC with not any choice to play it in other difficulty than normal... finished the DLC in normal difficulty and then unlocked Survior and Action Movie modes. Check @ 4:20 :

Huh, yeah I should mentioned I restarted the outpost aswel, maybe that's it?

maybe.. only some1 from UBISOFT can really tell us what's the deal with the reseted outposts... if it counts or not the main game as finished...

I reset the Outposts once and completed 4 of them before I started the DLC. So I don't think it matters. Did you guys complete the main story 100%? Main story, side missions, collectables etc... Maybe that's the problem. I did everything in the game before starting the DLC.

Hopefully someone at Ubisoft will chime in for you guys.

hehhhe I am not going to finish the main game, cause tbh it blows monkies. So, I hope they are going to consider this and allow peeps to select their own difficulty settings for the DLCs.

Unfortunately, the different difficulty modes for the HoD DLC do not change the AI at all. There isn't a Hard Mode. Survival Mode simply limits the amount of weapons you can carry and the max amount of health that you have. Action Movie mode makes it easier, not more difficult. You are allowed to carry more weapons and call airstrikes without having to destroy the AA guns first.

Nope, I didn´t. I dont have 100% Completion, but as already said by someone else, thats apparently not necessary. Have heard from a friend that he could start on "survivor Mode" right from the get go. Really seems to be a weird bug.

Exactly...And Unfortunately, the AI on hard in the actual game is easy as well. I beat it a second time with more primitive weapons -when allowed. The game is way too easy, but still enjoyable. I'd go for a 3rd round if they added a 'hardcore' mode, but it will never happen, so I just enjoy my money well spent when they release the DLC I paid for.
