Saved game keeps getting deleted
My friend has started the game 7 times gets off the island and logs out and when she comes back her game wasnt saved. Is there a way to fix this? She has uninstalled and reinstalled, and verified files.

Does she have bit defender? Protected files?

If she's using Windows 10 she may need to launch the game in Admin mode. If that doesn't work she might need to claim security ownership of the save location (C:\Users\UserName\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 5). She could also disable UAC but that has security risks to consider.

This was driving me crazy with another game and I discovered protected files was blocking write privileges in my documents by default.

maybe do an experiment - give her your save file and see if the game can even see it, does it see it and start her up where u left off, or does it fail to see it and start her at the beginning again? She's hitting continue game and not new game right? (lol) Maybe its making a save file but in an incorrect directory so can't find it next time. Maybe its failing to create a save file in the first place. is she running the game as an administrator? check the ini files, maybe you can specify a new save file location. Is she out of space on her drive its trying to save on? Make sure no involved directories are set to read only. I.e. experiment, trial and error. Narrow down the prob. Or just report it and wait for a fix.

still looking for the save files. actually had to turn on cloud saves in uplay to play on my laptopp while traveling.

Also, make sure that your save folder is not set to "Read Only" as it won't let you overwrite the save file.

no bit defender, windows defender is off, no protected files that i know of. it happens in solo and if i try to join another's game it will tell me error Granite - 2000000 and then effectively kick me out and not allow me to play solo or in co-op. run as admin doesnt seem to be working either. tried to uninstall uplay and move to a driver with more room and that didnt work

I have Windows Defender running so that can't be it. Has your friend edited any files internally such as gamerprofile.xml?

Have you even found the save game folder?

I'm having the same issue, I went ahead and validated the game files for good measure, but it's still spitting back the same errors. Located the save locations and attempted to restore those locations to a previous version, but those don't exist. At a loss at what to do next.
