Quit or end a mission ?

So I would like to quit the Patriot Acts side mission, now I'm stuck in this never ending loop, the damn chopper allways get away last few seconds.. and for the life of me I can't figure out how to cancel or quit a side mission..

Open the escape menu and quit mission does not work?

there is no option to quit just view on world map, and its one of those timed missions if you fail it auto starts you at a checkpoint thats timed

I think if you use fast travel, it will force quit a mission.

I just did the simple thing of closing the game, it wouldn;t let me fast travel.

Just sucks that i had to end it that way, but big up for the fast repsonse guys.

Just to add, it took me back tot he look out tower ( start of the timed mission ) so all is good I can now go back to running from bears

Cant find quit mission

I close it on the map if it's yellow it's active click it goes white and it should be over.
