the atonement mission glitched

im on the mission where john seed tries to escape from you at the church and you have to chase him down.

i got in a truck with a machine gun and an AI drove me around. i died and respawned in the truck but now i cant get out and theres no AI to drive me.

now all i can do is sit in the vehicle turret and fail the mission over and over. is there any fix for this?

i tried fast travelling and assigning a companion but those features are disable for the mission

You got lucky, I got it worse. After I'm done with the truck part, John Seed doesnt spawn and im stuck flying around for no reason unable to find him and unable to reset the mission.

Dunno if you're still stuck there, but I had the exact same problem. In order to progress I had to fly all over his section of Hope County, for like 10 minutes until he finally spawned out of nowhere and I could take him out. Hope this works for you!

Also encountered this...really annoying since I'm most likely going to need several retries to do the mission (highest difficulty). The worst part is that you can't skip the cutscene that comes before it due to a single QTE in it... Would have thought something like this might have been noticed during QA.

Just had this bug and completly agree - actually astonished it wasn't weeded out in QA .. would have thought every single mission was tested many times at every checkpoint for this kind of thing.

Quality mission. I also found out that John's plane will fly out of bounds, and you have to go out of bounds to chase it, and if you do it'll respawn you. It's like no-one actually played some of these missions. Is playtesting not a thing any more?

Having the same issue. Died in the truck ride, and when it reopens at the check point I am in the truck and it doesn't move. exited, did a complete restart. same thing. Had to go through the whole bloody cut scene, boring as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and twice as frustrating.
