The hype around the Arcade Editor (or whatever it's called) was a major reason for me buying this game. I've played around with it for about one hour, and I've come to a rather unpleasant conclusion; while the sheer amount of assets you can use is really quite something, there is a very limited amount of them which you can use. Now, I can't be sure quite yet, but it seems that the editor's budget fills up far too quickly. After only placing a couple of tunnels parts, a train track and a handful of enemies, the editor told me that the budget was full, and that it wouldn't let me proceed to play it. Why is it so damn limited? Far Cry 4 allowed for much more assets on the map, and while the game could become unstable if you pushed it too far, you could still do it. I don't get why they would add so much cool stuff to the editor if you can't use even a fraction of it at any given time.

Am I right or am I just missing something important?

Can't confirm as I've spent very little time in editor (since i felt i moved painfuly slow) but I did notice an option to toggle a "budget grid" so maybe the budget is only filled up within that specific square, or is it the whole map? Because that sounds pretty lame.

Is that so? Well, I haven't seen it. I'll wait for a while before playing, so that I might have a chance to refund if it turns out that ♥♥♥♥ doesn't work.

it looks like baby ingame editor

so its there for like arcade like maps

which are like tiny deathmatch areas

its not there for you to build far cry like level

I don't want/need to build a game world. I want to build a map on the scale which was very much possible in Far Cry 4. I've seen some amazing builds in FC4, and I've done my fair share of pretty good stuff myself. As far as I can tell, that opportunity does not seem to exist in FC5.

how much memory do you have? also i would think they would limit to what they could support. since it does not look like commercial editor like udk/unity and the levels you can play them without any build/bake phase...

I keep having issues with the editor too and it was the primary reason I bought the game. I keep getting a “clipping error” every time I add any detail to a map and once I get it there’s no way to make it go away. Even worse. It won’t even let you test the map or use it at all until you fix this clipping error glitch, basically rendering all my hard work on the map useless and for nothing. They nex to fix this ASAP.

I don't know whether that matters. I've got 16 ram, and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of harddrive memory. Again, I can do a lot with the Far Cry 4 editor without any problems.

Important Question: Can you chagne the default weapon of a friendly or hostile npc in the map editor?

Is there any way to have the map editor in full screen mode? It's only windowed borderless for me.

I think it can only be played in windowed mode.

i need help, i cant spawn any Ai's it wont show the image for them. And it wont let me open the tab to see everything i can spawn. Can somebody please help me

As I posted earlier there is a mod that deletes budget limits, also clipping errors on NexusMods.
