Gamepad not connecting.

Hello! I've been trying to get Far Cry 5 to work all morning, and I finally got it to stop saying "Pre-loaded" and actually play, but now I can't seem to use my controller. I have it turned on in the settings, and I'm running the latest software for it, but it won't work. When I unplug it and plug it back in, I get a message in the top right-hand corner of the screen from Ubisoft that a new controller was successfully connected, however it doesn't switch from Mouse and Keyboard. Is there any way to fix this? I'm using a wired Xbox One Afterglow controller that works perfectly with other games, including the past Far Cry games.

how do you do that, the only way my game recognizes the controller is if i let steam controller emulation on

Not sure, I never had an issue when using the wired controller directly in PC, its just when I use the steamlink. I never had to configure any settings it just worked. Im using Windows 7 FYI

Hey guys... I have a Nacon Revolution 2. I fixed it, or at least this worked for me....

I read somewhere that it will recognize a 2nd controller, and i have a wireless 18€ one. So i tried it. It then recognized only the cheap controller. So, some progress there.
I then followed these instructions:

"First verified game cache>
Connect you controller>
Then open big picture>
Click far cry 5>
Manage game>
Controller options>
Use steam configuration for non-steam Controllers>
Select (forced off) click ok>
Launch game. Now d-pad should be working."

When i launched the game, still no working... BUT THEN all i had to do was unplug and re-connect the controller. It works fine now. Give it a try.
OS. I unplugged and re-connected while on the game's main menu, before loading the game.

My Logitech F310 doesn't work the Dpad or the LS for running. :( :( :(

My bad. I gave up and uninstalled the game. UBISOFT WILL NOT REFUND AND BASICALY IF YOU BUY THIS GAME YOU BETTER HAVE A GREAT RIG, AND BE A KEY + MOUSE PLAYER.....

The mouse and keyboard setting are horrible. The aiming doesn't have auto aiming unlike the controller and doesn't matter how many time I change it, the aim is too slow or too fast.

This game doesn't have X-Input support which Xbox use. On Xbox one elite need driver update and those who have windows 10 can get the update for free on windows 10 store. I have Xbox 360 controller and steam controller emulator doesn't work at all on D-Pad, driving reverse, etc.

No refund and you are death meat for life playing this game with no controller.

The thread is over a year old, not sure they are still working on the game. Though I doubt insulting them is going to help.

that post is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for alot other people i bought an Xbox1 controller for the game, it don't work. i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with my controller settings in steam and i manage to get a non supported controller working albeit missing a few buttons. the customer service is ♥♥♥♥ but thats to be expected from Ubisoft

I AM USING AN OFFICIAL XBOX 360 CONTROLLER, I HAVE 4 OF THEM AND NONE WORK PROPERLY, same with everyone else that's having this problem, i even tried using my new xb1x controller and the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing happens, ubisoft needs to pull their heads out of their asses

Geez, this thread I made over a year ago just exploded again. Is it really still an issue? (I stopped playing ages ago after the lack-luster DLCs)
