CD Key Problem
When I open FarCry it opens UPlay and askes me for a CD Key that i have not been given. The question is how can I find the key. I have not had any other problem with UPlay games that i bought from steam like Rainbow Six Siege,

And we have several threads about that problem. Close Uplay completely (best to remove completely) and start FC5 ONLY through steam. Don't do anything in Uplay.

When you first launch the game through Steam, Steam pops up a windows with a key. That's the key you are supposed to enter on uPlay. Just like any other Ubisoft game, bought on Steam.

OP solved the "issue", based on his/her playtime in FC5.. Guess he/she was too busy to edit in the solution (I get that - might be embarrassing for some to admit that the key you're desperately looking for, was the one getting thrown in your face by Steam, that you might have just closed thinking it was "yet another annoying pop-up").

FC5 doesn't have a key for Uplay, it creates account connection. At least for my version.

Ubisoft doesn't do that anymore, the accounts are direclty linked now. No key is given.
Hi, I own games on Steam and Ubisoft. If you buy the game through steam, even if its a Ubisoft game, you need to launch via Steam. It will then open Uplay.

If you launch through Uplay only, it wont work normally. I own Far cry 4 and The Division on Uplay.

I own FarCry 3, Anno and a few others on Steam, The steam versions dont work for me if I open directly from Uplay. They require a Steam launch, which helps to close Uplay completely. Hope this helps

That's... odd...

Got a few friends that got the game from Steam, that says they had to enter the key to actually be able to play the game. Must not be 100% of the time then, if that's the case.

If I try to open the game through Steam nothing happens. I get the window asking if I wanna launch the game or the editor but after that, nothing. And if I try to open the game directly with the exe I get the uplay code window. Damned if I do damned if I don't.

Try to verify the cache. if that doesnt work, you will sadly have to send a support ticket to both Steam and Uplay. I say both incase either of them try saying to contact the other.

I think it was just a simple glitch. All i had to do to fix my problem was to restart my computer. Hope it helps for those that have had the same problem.
