Will this game run on a dual core CPU?
I don't have the money at the moment to upgrade my computer. I know Far Cry 4 did not run with dual core processors unless they had hyperthreading which mine doesn't. But I was also wondering if FC5 is able to launch on dual cores without hyperthreading this time around.

I mean if fc4 didnt then fc5 wont

No it won't. It runs on upgraded Dunia engine and it doens't launch unless it detects a 3rd core. You might wanna try using Dual core injector though. Might work but you won't get optimal experience.

Ubisoft recommends a 4 Core processor for minimal details an 30fps,

I believe it will not work.

If you read the description like any other person would, you would see that I said "I don't have the money at the moment to upgrade my computer."

sorry not trying to be mean but seriously just to let you know none of this generation of AAA games will work with duel cores hyperthread or not those prossesors wont work for any game that came out between 2015-2018 and onwards quad core 6 core or 8 core cpu is required for this generation of AAA games to run recommend reading the full list of supported hard ware required to run this game

Then you have a problem. My old I5-4690K whips the crap out of the core2duos I have in the house.

Welp. Found out that the game indeed cannot run on dual core processors. I knew it. F***. :/

When you say "dual core" what processor do you have?

Thats about the best you could get for the c2d line. I have a few of those in some older Dell workstations I used as "internet only" machines.

Its a fine CPU, just outdated.

Right... so how comes FC5 is running almost flawlessly on ultra with a 2 core hyperthreaded cpu ? As you can see here https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/far-cry-5-pc-performance-analysis/2/.

It's probably by magic right ? :steamfacepalm:

The only worthwhile upgradable path with your current system would be, to get a core 2 quad cpu (costs around 20 bucks), which should be enough for 30fps.
