Thank you guys <3 This is really important imo its a major thing for FPS games.
Not sure tbh. I was really sad when i saw that Far Cry 3 didn't have an FOV slider it's a bummer really. Same with Fallout games and some older CODs you kinda just have to deal with it or maybe install a mod that could break the game.

It's because games are tailored to use as much resources as possible given the power of the console. By adjusting the fov wider you would render too much graphics for the console to handle, and thus the framerate would suffer.
Yeah lol that's one of the main reasons of why i play on PC
