Clinical study glitch

[Three Step]

As of now, i am doing the clinical study mission, ive got the skunk skins however whenever i kill a grizzly bear and skin (with my bow), it doesn't count however the amount grizzlies i have killed still goes up. Is their any workaround for this problem?

I have restarted the game. I will update if i find an effective solution

As I recall there is a limit on skins of one type that you can hold at one time.

if you have the perk that gives you more skins you can just 50 cal headshot them , you get 2 skins , 1 is damaged and 1 undamaged usually , thats how i did it , as long as you dont open up on them with an smg then the skins will be undamaged

But you're selling. Can you continue to hoard any number of one skin species? I seem to recall a limit last time I did this.

Its a awful game breaking glitch. Im currently playing the same mission on ps4 and everytime I skin a grizzly bear it shows up as black bear skin and mission item. Its because of the live event right now where you have to kill some bears with a pistol. Its screwing everything up.

I didn't have this issue yesterday, I did both Clinical Study mission and the live event at the same time. Killing the black bears with a pistol counted towards the event, while killing the grizzly bears and collecting their skins counted towards the mission

Somethings going on. Everytime I skin a grizzly bear it only shows up as black bear skin and wont progress the mission. Strangely enough it counts as grizzly bear skin in my challenges though.

Grizzly bears are brown, are you saying they give off black bear skins? Verify game files or something if thats the case

I think I found a fix. I disconnected from the internet and continued the mission and was able to get the grizzly bear skins. I finished the live event before attempting Clinical Study and I think my game got confused between the two bears. I was only hunting grizzly bears for the mission last night but no matter what it only counted as black bear skins (the bears were brown). If anyone is having trouble finishing this mission at this point in time I recommend disconnecting from the internet beforehand. It worked for me.

I can confirm this works, have to teleport to area after you disconnect tho.
