CHAIN TAKEDOWNS

So I'm playing far cry 5 and I've unlocked the perk for chain takedowns and pistol and knife. But I'm getting absolutely 0 prompts for the takedowns. I know a lot of you will explain how to do them but I assure you I know how. I've played every far cry game there is lol. Is anyone else having this problem. I'm playing pc but with an Xbox one controller. Even if I push the buttons needed to do the take Downs nothing will happen. I have absolutely no chain take down ability even though it's been unlocked ... Wtf...

Ive had the same issue with death from below not registering. I only have that one and the chain takedown left to claim diamond trophy.

*FIX*
Verify game files in steam by going to properties of the game then local files and then verify game files. I did this and now Its working great

Pistol take down is easy , you make a take down and hold r m b hit l m b
best in line importent the pistol is in the complete right wapen slot

Focus on enemies close to eachother for chain take downs. Pay attention to where they are in relation to the first takedown you do. A quick prompt of W, S, A or D will show up.
Pistol takedowns need you to be looking in the direction of a second target when you do an initial take down. You need to aim and shoot to execute it.

Ok maybe I'm just slow, but I'll see it display right mouse, then left mouse and I think I click quickly enough but is there a time limit of less than one second?
Do you have to zoom? Do you have to aim at all or is it automatic when the display pops up? How much time do you have?
I have 3 more pistol takedowns to do and I'm not 100% sure how I pulled off the first two, plus I have all 5 chain takedowns to pull off.
One death from below too, but that's down to not finding an enemy above me.

Also, do kills in the Arcade count?

Chain takedowns are really weird - I don't know why but at some point I got them prompted and way later after I already had the challenge, I didn't even get prompted for it in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cellar of that outpost with the bliss zombies (aka angels) in it.

Only got the prompt for handgun takedowns.

I'm not having much success either. The tutorial says I need A+S+RMB to do a chain takedown after a regular takedown. I hate to say it but after 2 days of trying, I'm just going to give up and move on. I'm playing for FUN with a little bit of achievement-drive. Experimenting over and over to try to figure out who to do something that shouldn't be too complicated isn't fun, so why do it? Frankly a chain takedown SHOULD just be 1. get close to a target 2. hit the takedown key 3. look at another close target 4. hit the takedown key, not a+s+left foot in+left foot out+cross eyes+stick out tongue.

I pull a take down and usually the keys pop up in the lower center portion of my screen but chain requires enemies to be clumped a lot closer compared to past games.

The pistol takedown doesn’t matter as long as an enemy or two are within you front sight range. They gotta be within sight range though and not behind a major sight blocker. Where the enemies stomach and chest meet and up need to be visible.
