So there you have it. If Polygon reporting is accurate...the ending is not a hallucination. Its a nuke attack because the world is in nuclear war. The nuke didnt belong to Joseph. The USA was attacked.

Dumb ending. I'm just going to pretend that Sheriff Whitehorse shot him in the back of the head, no nuke went off, all of the hope County people thank you for saving them, and you take off with one of his choppers and fly away in the sunset

Even I have to admit their ending and entire premise of the game was ballsy.

Hell this sh!t is what news anchors live off of. Inb4 news report that this game causes people to kill religious people and promote nuclear war.

Really cool for people like me who barely use vehicles with radio and won't listen to it when they do. And even with that explanation the ending is worst than having a black screen with the text "You defeated the Cult and saved Hope County! Congratulations and thanks for playing" *credits roll*.

The ending was dumb enough in that nuclear bombs were going off very close to you and could instantly set all the forests on fire yet you're A-OK in your magic truck. Wut.

Rule of thumb with nukes: If you can hold your hand out at arm's length and cover the entire mushroom cloud with your tumb then you're safe. With that being said.. the huge clouds means they were very much in instant-dead zone.

It's like the devs did 0 research into anything they put into this game (weapons, vehicles, aircraft, etc.)
