Trick I used to catch the Admiral Fish [PC]

Not sure if anyone else has tried this, but it worked great for me. I had been trying to catch that bugger for at least an hour. I watched a YouTube clip and the person caught it in like 30 seconds; I noticed that he/she had very good control of the rod and was able to immediately counter the fish’s direction. While my mouse/keyboard control was sluggish at best. So, I went in to the set-up options under keyboard and mouse and turned “Mouse Acceleration” ON and set the level to 100. You only want to switch this over when you’re standing at your fishing hole with rod in hand because it naturally makes the mouse movement very twitchy. Get a feel for it, cast, watch the line’s angle and counter his movement as usual. I caught him in two tries. After you got em', switch it back to normal and go buy get the Wonderboy rod.

Another thing is to try to get it hooked as close to you as possible. That was how I manged it. But the mouse acceleration trick I may have try on another play through (something I would try right now if there was more than one pathetic save slot).

Great advice! I watched some yt vids and they were using consoles to keep the rod bent in the right directiion but w PC it kep going back to the center. This worked, thanks man.

Dude u rock! Thanks for the advice! I turned up my DPI to highest and also got him in 2nd try - 5 min tops and this was literally was the last quest I had to do as I done every single mission before I was able to catch this sucker :-)

small exploit: move really far back and then just sprint towards it, I just grabbed it this way

I drove a boat to the center of the lake, realized she was making a different statement each time I cast my line. Cast it just to get a bite 4-5 times, then actually try to catch him. Easy.

Good tip, but the quest could be bugged. And the amount of times that you hook him has no bearing on the difficulty, just FYI. Maybe someday, Ubisoft will learn what beta testing is.

Moving far back on the little island you are on, then running up to the fish works too, that was what I did.

All I did was just turn up my sensitivity for my mouse(NOT in game). Most mice have a button for changing dpi on the go. Unless your using some default mouse or a mouse from 10 years ago or something. lol

I run a standard 2000dpi for most games. Catching that stupid fish, I put it up to 4800 and caught it pretty quick.

just right mouse to reel in and keep moving your mouse left and right constantly, and watch that your line doesn't get redish color. I got it in less then 30 seconds.

This trick was super helpful. After 20 minutes of frustration, I tried your fix and caught the Admiral within 2 minutes.

I found it to be much easier with a controller.
