Uplay admin console april's fool - not funny

guys, no sh*t, whoever had this idea needs his head rammed into the table to get some common sense into his brain. Haha, is not it funny? Let's have a little pop up in Uplay that opens a console which looks like some Virus with lots of red characters all in DOS format. I clicked on it and upon it opening I panickely closed uplay via task manager, deleted all Uplay content and games and ran a 4h virus scan only to find nothing and then read in some forum it is a April's fool thing. Seriously man, it is only funny if it does not look like some virus that hacked Uplay and my computer. Man, I swear sometimes you get the impression they farmed all adults that never exceeded the brains of 5 year olds and put them all in the gaming indutstry to work full time on weird monsters and other eye-rolling stuff. I understand that not everybody brings with him/her the capability to work on a cure for cancer or work towards the next nobel peace prize, but seriously, who in their adult years works full time on something as silly as videogames? Like agenda for today: finish zombie model #5 and work on first person view animation of breaking someones neck. Great, a life well spent! Your parents are sure proud of your achievements!

Heh, heh, heh! Those rogues at Ubisoft! What are they like? I must admit that I when I saw that console thingy, my first reaction was to think that my Uplay client had been hijacked too. Fortunately, I had the good sense to Google 'Uplay Admin Console' and soon cottoned on that it was just an April fools joke. The poor OP fell for it pretty bad though. Hook, line and sinker.

For you western country people it might not be a big issue, but I live in a quite remote region where internet access is not a given. To top it off, I am NOT on an internet flat rate. So I spent 8h to get everything back running after I wiped my PC in panic AND suffered financial damage when re-downloading my Uplay games.

I feel bad for you. Half a day wasted and an increased internet bill, but really, you could have Googled 'Uplay Admin Console' before you panicked and wiped your PC. By the way, what you said about game developers' career choice was hilarious. Funnier than any April fools joke!

my advice to you would be simple in a public forum. to calm your anger and use your composure and discernment to make an arguement that is hard to defeat.

let me give you an example using your scenairo and the first post you shared.

I'd imagine their parents are proud. The game sold half a million copies on Steam alone [ http://gearnuke.com/far-cry-5-sells-more-than-half-million-copies-on-steam-within-a-week/ ]. And it's a really solid game. The ending has a few mixed feelings surrounding it, but overall the game is enjoyed and has positive reviews... I think living life as a video game developer would be pretty great.
