In what order should I do the regions?
I've already completed John's Region, and I'm debating wether I should liberate Faith's Region or Jacob's Region next. I know it doesn't really matter what order I do them in, but from a "realistic", story oriented point of view, which region makes the most sense to tackle next?

I'm going John, Jacob, Faith.

im pretty sure that the game simply gets harder the more you advance. that s usually the case with games like this. the enemys stark taking more damage and dealing more. you ll notice that they even change outfits through the progression of far cry 5. so, what ever any player choses to do last will seem harder to him than it would to someone who did it first or second.
so i guess the best to go for is to look for the unlockable helpers you want.

I've done Faith's region first and tapped into the others as I picked up all the guns for hire as my first main mission. Figured I'd go with Faith first as rescuing the Sheriff and those holed up in County Jail made more sense to me.

The drug effect is a little distracting at times, but you get used to it. I would prefer though that you had the option of burning all the crop, so far I've had limited success in burning it to ashes so I don't bother now. The rivers and lakes still seem to be full of Bliss though even though she's dead, so not sure if I need to do anything else to resolve this (done the water treatment plant).

One final point is that I think jocobs region is meant to be last, why? Clutch ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Nixon lol the story readings which leads to nixons supposed death is found in Jacobs region, just feels right tying the adventure off with Jacob.

Seems as good a reason as any. Only done one of his challenges so far, but love that Clutch Nixon splash screen and music though...

Anyway, once I've cleared Faith's region completely, I'm going to Go West (where the skies are blue) and clear that region next before heading North.

I want do to Faith-Jacob-John

Faith = I don't like drugs thingy things that much so, I want to get that region done as fast as possible (not that I hate it but, I it's my least favourite region.)

Jacob = I want to do the big brother next, I like the mountains etc. but, I like the country side even more. Also because John works with hallucinacions so, yeh a little bit the same reason as Faith

John = Save the best for last! I love John, he works the most realistic (without hallucinations, drugs) but, just with pain. I like him as a character and I like the region the most. I think because John is the youngest brother and I killed his sister and big brother he will be very pissed.

(I like the story of begin to kill the sister then the oldest brother and then the youngest because he wants to proof himself and don't fail like his older brother.)

Problems:
-I don't know if Ubisoft did the 'the more progress, the harder it gets' system so please can anyone inform me on that.
- I doubt between Jacob and John.

Can anyone tell me: What area did you enjoy the most? And the 'the more progress, the harder it gets' question.

It seems to me like the natural flow was John -> Faith -> Jacob. That's the order that made the most sense to me after multiple playthroughs and considering the story, i.e. what each antagonist has to say. John (Charisma you into joining) Faith (Romanticize you into joining) Jacob (Fine you won't join willingly so we will force you into a tool). Also, looking at the wepons linked to each area:

Whitetail militia guns were clearly endgame weapons and some of those missions are the game's most intense.

Fall's End weapons were clearly early game and Boomer/John all felt like the intended start point.

That leaves Faith in the middle.

But really it doesn't matter as most point out already.

I'd say John, Jacob, and then Faith for the smoothest narrative experience.

Despite my previous post, I've ended up following this route myself.

And that was purely because doing the last Clutch Nixon in Faith's area which is just the other side of a Jacob roadblock and they saw me, so after dealing with them and a helicopter I ended being grabbed by Jacob for a second time, so makes sense to do that region now as only been grabbed once by John...

It doesn't seem to get harder the more you progress. I would say Jacob's region is the easiest. There's less overall craziness and the missions there are pretty easy. It's a toss-up between Faith and John for hardest. I find certain missions in John's region to be pretty tough, but Faith's Angels are definitely harder enemies than the standard cultists.

Each region didn't feel more difficult than the others. So you really can do them in any order. They get harder when you do things in that specific region building resistance.

I enjoyed John's region the most for quests and general exploration, I like Jacob's region for hunting (that one bison spot is gold mine, lol)

Johns is the easiest for quite a lot of people. yea... seems like the "more progress = harder" thing is in place.

If you do Faith last then you miss out on Joseph's scene talking about her. Her story is pretty sad.

Just personal taste I guess. I find his first kidnapping tough, before you get health upgrades, because you get swarmed and in hard mode you can get one-shotted early on. So any mission with swarming enemies is tougher early on.. for me. There's a few of those in John's region. Grace's church. The one in the mine were you have to stop them disarming the bombs for 4 minutes. Aside from those bits it's probably fairly easy.

I completely detest that first kidnapping though, and will avoid it as long as possible. Especially when you've finished the defense, and the dumb idiot you're supposed to protect won't get on the chopper and just stands there getting downed over and over. :D

What keeps me from replaying the game again are those damn kidnappings. they are stupid and make no sense story wise. sure, the bad guys can decide to take you at any time but just dont do it for most of the game. and when they do, they obviously let you go somehow. and your friends end up being captured times and times again too. honestly, the main story was very very bad no matter what order you play it. i liked the gameplay but storywise it was really not very good at all.

true, the helicopter escape after the kidnapping in johns region was a bit harder than the others but the enemies in the region generally felt weaker than in the north for instance

I hate it too man. I wonder how likely it will be that modding will happen? Probably not. But I'd love a mod were you could just choose when to advance the story.

To be fair there's a couple of missions in the north too that are really hard early on, but I find Jacob's kidnappings really easy. I think I just have PTSD from that helicopter ♥♥♥♥.
rubun Apr 12, 2018 @ 1:43pm
I think Ill just play it on the hardest diffeculty and start with Jacob's region first (because there's the least to do and it seems that his story is shortest.
Then I'll go to Faith just to get past the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidnappings and drug ♥♥♥♥.
And then in my opinion best for last John's region with lots of things (side missions etc.) to do and I love his character the best!
