Yep. The very first mission, liberate Fall's End, will be completed by the townspeople themselves if you do too many resistance point actions. I never even did a side mission, just killing VIPs, vehicles, etc. You will get a radio call and they will say due to my inspiration, they took the town back themselves.
Basically those of us who like to explore and do side stuff first got screwed out of a mission. I am fearing if there are more like it.
Ya I ran into that as well...what was the mission that we missed, basically going into the town and killing all the cult people? Any story stuff?
For me, it is just the principle of not getting to play a main story mission. I am a very slow and detailed explorer, I like to look over and entire section before pushing a story, and the game punished me for not rushing into missions over exploring everything. I am just wonder if it will happen at further points, why I was asking.
Yep, I'm the same as you - I progress through the map very much in a very methodical manner, gradually working my way into the enemy territory, setting up base camps, etc. I didn't charge into that location right away because I'm one guy with a helper or two. Makes more sense to gradually work your way into the area but apparently we get punished for playing this way.
