Chinook fishing problem [SOLVED].
When I try to catch heavy chinook, the line breaks after shortest pull. The tension builds insanely fast and I can't do anything - the line just breaks instantly...
Do I have to get a better fishing rod? I still haven't unlocked two best rods at the end of the list...
Thanks.

UPDATE:
OK, I found the source of my problem with Chinooks at that location.
It is NOT the fish, it's the canyon wall on the opposite side of the stream! The stream there is very narrow, and I threw the bait too far and hooked the fish near the opposite wall. If I give too much slack, the end of the line with the hooked fish touches the wall and instantly breaks! It was the same thing when I was fishing red salmon from the boat and the line accidentally touched the boat... Chinook itself is in no way harder to catch than any other fish...

So be aware of any underwater objects - you DON'T want your line to touch them!

For the (Hard) Fish you need to get the better Poles.

not always u need to get better
just when the thing gets red just dont pull realase the button on the mous eand when it gets green pull again it will take time to take the fish out but its worth it i fish with the 1 rod and do same thing and its lots of fun

You don't have to get a better rod. It's very much doable with the starter rod.

I beat all the records in the regions, with the starter rod. Then I got the one from the fishing mission, and tried it out - if I had got that when fishing for the regional records, it would have been a walk in the park. Holy hell, that thing makes it easy.. Way too easy..

The one you get for beating the records, is pretty much the same thing, but sturdier (if I remember correctly and dont mix the two last one up).

But yeah.. If you find it too hard - go for the one you get from a fishing mission. It'll be real easy with that one, but at least you wont be struggling..

It wasn't any problem for me to break records for rainbow and golden trout, smallmouth and rock bass... Then I went to that Chinook hard spot not too far to the southwest from Eli's bunker, and this was very different... The line goes through the whole cycle from dark green to red to break in a fraction of a second...

What is the best technique with Chinook? Very short pulls with immediate release of the tension? Something like that?

Thank you all for your responses.
