Wow just turn the brightness down.

I feel like the brightness of my game is fine, but the brightness of the flashlight is NOT. it turns on automatically in rooms that are well lit enough to see, and it just puts a blinding white circle in the middle.of your screen making it difficult to know what you're even looking at.

For ♥♥♥♥♥ sake who decided auto flashlight is a good feature?

I've been having this issue and fixed it by putting the game into border-less window :)

Yes. It's the same thing with Fallout, Skyrim and nearly every other game around. Nights never are dark enough to be realistic. In addition to that even this game has this laughable shining around characters during nighttime so "the casual player can spot the enemies". The game allows to remove nearly everything, but this? Not even the blinking corpses can be disabled.

Go to Video > Quality and set HD Textures to ON. Worked for me - now the game looks normal and not washed out.

Found a solution to this which is to turn HDR off, Set contrast and brightness to 0 then turn HDR on and set Paper white to 100 or 120.

Second solution happened by accident. I recently had to change my CPU cooler due to a pump failure. Plugged in my graphics card to a different slot by mistake and it has completely changed the brightness of my screen. No longer have over contrast issue. Could have been the CPU cooler issue also but not sure how? So different graphics card DP input seems likely solution.
