cant play farcry 5 on ANY phenom processor , The culprit seems to actually be AMD Phenom’s lack of SSE 4.1 support i had to change my cpu to play also, i got an fx8350 8 core cpu to pop straight in my board for under £100

according to others here, the reason the phenoms don't work is not because of the game itself but because of the denuvo DRM, its that DRM is what stops it working on those chips and it requires the SSE 4.1

actually it's more likely the same situation as destiny 2, executables were pushed with targeting 4.1 and higher because the low end of their testing environment was on FX series for amd, not phenom. fixing this after the fact can be easy sometimes, but the dev has to do it.

I can confirm, as a Phenom II owner, that this issue isn't due to Denuvo. I recently played through Mutant Year Zero with my Phenom II, this game uses Denuvo as well. I also played through the RE2 Demo over the weekend, this demo also uses Denuvo. Also have Final Fantasy XV in my Steam library, this title also uses Denuvo and I played through the game without issue.

Maybe someone got confused between Denuvo and Dunia (the FC5 game engine's name)?

Either way, Phenom II's might be old but my 6 core Phenom II still runs any game (including RE2 Demo) 100 %. Just Ubi that's to lazy to code in support for this old architecture. But yea... a upgrade is overdue! Just bad timing as I bought a car a few months ago:-P

The issue is the lowest cpu they test the game with was AMD fx series, so the problem was discovered after the fact. Also yes a couple of Phenom;s are fast enough, but most are not.
