Empty Falls End

I'm at the point where I fully angered John to the max, and now nobody is in Falls End. When I pause, it says I'm in a mission, but I'm not. When I FT to Falls End, a black screen is there for a second, then nothing happens. I load last checkpoint, nothing happens. Is my game glitched? How can I fix this and progress?

I checked everywhere for people, including the church, but to no avail. Maybe there's an item or note I gotta pick up, I'll check again.

I had to check the door of the church a few times before the interaction popped up and let me start the mission.

How do you suppose I go at this? Keep running around the church in circles? Fast travelling over and over? Run far away from the church and back?

When I had that problem I just got off, started up my pc the next day and it worked fine... so 1 take.
Anyways have you tried fast traveling to some other location?

Yes, I even fast traveled to Falls End WHILE being there too, to serve as an "area refresh." Still nothing. I'll keep trying.

Try exiting the game, exiting Steam, and exiting Uplay fully (if you close its window it might still be hiding in your task tray).

Okay, I fast traveled somewhere else and for some reason, it actually worked. John gave me a call to head to Falls End, and now I see an objective. And now I see the walkway and carpet. Guess I didn't have the mission yet at all beforehand.
