I would say that Far Cry 5 gives the perfect balance between gun realism vs gameplay fun. Far Cry 2 was more on the realism side of guns with how they jam and have a lot of recoil. Realistic sure, but not really all that fun. The fun that came out of that game was more or less the experience you got with everything.
So, people is confused about gunplays, is it free?...is it auto?...is it assist?...
Titanfall 2 and SW Battlefront 1 on PS4 have a so big assist that does not means both of them have the best or the worst gunplay.
You must play Call of Duty without any assist for to check that you are not so precise, generally in all games on console, I never use mouse, so I do not know what happens on PC.
I desactivate on PS4 assists on Far Cry 5 or Uncharted 4, GTA V and gunplay is good, you feel you need to be precise, you need to stop the sprint, you need to wait a second for point the target, shoot at intervals without emptying the charger trying to follow the path of the enemy when you do not have it in an optimal position and so on, I mean the game is not helping you to centre your camera to the target or helping to follow the path of the enemy or desacelerating the movement.
And like I said, this assist must be avaliables on PC too, at least on GTA V is for sure, I guess in other games, too, so it is an urban legend the typical: on console people plays with assists when on PC people is doing the same with their mouses.
I could be wrong, but not on GTA V case.
People who aren't very knowledgeable about guns have this ludicrous idea that assault rifles have a lot of kick, but that's completely not true. Im fact, I'd say the ones I've used kick less than some pistols. So firing an M4 or an M16 could be comparable to firing a "nerf gun" in terms of recoil. There is barely any at all.
The M9, a 9 mm pistol for those not familiar, has a bit of kick but it's not bad. As I said. I'm not as familiar with pistols, some have a lot more kick.
From my experience, however, FC5 doesn't do terrible at all with their weapon handlimg at all.

I am not arguing for realistic mechanics, but simply more creative and fun gameplay. This is kind of getting retarded, when to kill someone in body armor with plastic riot helmet takes about 5 .50 Cal BMG shots at point blank range.
Modern gamers got spoiled with glorified pick your own path storylines that when a game has a set plot, a story to tell, they get butthurt and ♥♥♥♥♥
"My Skyrim look best the mods. You are feeble patty. Haha. Do have my resolution set to 20k. What's yours? Haha I sup on your tears and spare parts."
Never aim for the body in arcade, especially if armor is involved. It usually only takes one hit even with smgs in the head to get a kill. You just have to aim or spray with the pattern of the recoil
