Fishing Records

So I have been fishing for a while and was trying to break the records. I wrote them down so I would know what weights but when I catch something exceeding the record there is nothing popping up telling me I have done so. Do I need to turn in these fish somewhere? Is there supposed to be a pop up or something telling me I've got a record fish?

You can see the weight of the fish when you pull it out of the water. If the record is 27 ( you wrote the records down) then you need to reel one in that is 27.1 or more. That's it. Nothing to turn in.

nothing pops up to tell you you ntoke the record. I would have found that helpful, too. You only get a notification when you catch a certain fish for the first time.

Every time you break a record, blue ribbon appears on top of that fish on the wall of the main resistance base of the corresponding region (trout records appear in every region). Nothing suppose to pop up when you break the record, and you sell this fish as any other fish (and for the same price). The only reward is the Old Betsy fishing rod after you break all records (after your last record break there is a pop-up with notification).

Alright, thanks everyone. Oh, and can you catch a record fish in any region? If I catch a record trout for Whitetail Mountains in Holland Valley does it still count?

Yes, record is record regardless of the region the fish was caught.

The five fish in the left hand column are universal. The three fish in the right hand column are specific to that region (or at least the "Hard" fishing spots are). So if you get all the ribbons in one area, you'll already be 5-out-of-8 done in the other two areas.

There are 4 trouts (all regions), 3 basses (Faith), 3 salmons (Jacob) and 2 sturgeons (John).
...Ah, and there is one giant russian sturgeon named Admiral. ;)))

When you catch the largest fish you will see a blue ribbon beside the type of fish so you know you got it.

you just walk into the bar that has the records and you will get a ribbon by it if you beat the record

yes its a STATE record, as in the WHOLE state. and the whole game takes place in the same state
