Not saving game properly - sync issue?

Some times when I use the fast travel feature I lose any progress that I've done that's happened before the game last saved itself. I have tried to trial and error a little bit but obviously given how much time I lose testing it I am avoiding the fast travel for now.

One solution I tried was to manually save before using the fast travel and that didn't work either. If anyone needs any more info like settings etc I am more than happy to help out.

Oh, and since we're talking: Yesterday, it started. The game while running asked me whether I want to return to the main menue, without me pressing anything except game/action related buttons. Of course, I declined. Then the game crashed and gave an error message - I don't recall it something about GRANITE - and now: my savegames are GONE. Two digit number of gameplay. Well hey, okay, start over, at least I can reskill now.... which I did. And admittetly, i had a helluva time... but guess what has happened just 5 minutes ago, when I wanted to carry on.... SAVE GAME GONE!

Turn off cloud save this sorted it for me after I lost a lot of progress. I even backup my hd save file now just to be sure.
