Strange beer keg?(not whiskey barrels)

Ok i completed the game last night and thought today i'd have a quick scout about for any easter eggs i might have missed,at the top of the valley just to the East of Jacobs compound and North of Linero building supplies is a shack with a note about a killer bear and a metal keg that is highlighted yellow but is impossible to interact with.Just wanted to know if this was this part of a mission? i have a 100% completion in the area and genuinley dont remember this being part of one.

I remember a mission about a killer bear, but I think that was associated with one of John's outposts.

I have found the area you're referring to, and destroyed the beer keg; after destroying the beer keg, the bear the note referred to popped up as being marked (likely due to Boomer being assigned). When I approached the bear, it stayed in sleep mode with very loud snoring, regardless of what I did, and nothing occurs after killing it. I'm currently trying to see if there is something to this.

There are a number of items and locations in the game that aren't tied to any missions that I've seen, such as this and the pink dog toy at the clinic. I'm wondering if there are elaborate easter eggs (such as actually finding Big Foot) that have yet to be uncovered.

How strange. I found a guitar in Faiths area that is yellow at a marked location, and you cant interact with it either. I wonder if this is dlc content or a mission I missed?

When i found the keg you're talking about, i noticed that there were about 3 metal targets around the shack. one hanging in the shelter that is part of the shack, one across the trail hanging on the log flume, and one hanging off a skull's antlers up the hill directly behind the shack.

I dont know if they are all part of an easter egg, or even if either are eggs at all. When i saw them they just look kinda out of place, especially next to that keg. Just thought that I'd throw that out there.

Due to certain arcade features, Bigfoot has to be able to be found in the game.

I didn't notice those targets, I'll take a look at them.

No the yeti is just from the FC4 DLC that they put in just for arcade fun. If there was a Bigfoot he'd have a completely different model.

Huh, really??? Now I’m not sure, though I don’t think it was the Yeti. Have you played the “Shovel Souls” map in Arcade? That’s the one that uses it that I didn’t think was the Yeti.

The beer kegs have to do with a mission found in Faith's territory.

I've seen this too. from the front of the cabin if you walk down the path away form the cabin you'll find a cave on the right which could be where the killer bear is/was living. in the cave you'll find 3 bodies: one which is a skeleton and has a camera, another skeleton with a cowboy hat, and lastly one which is still intact, but looks to be dressed as a hunter. if you read the note he says he is going out to kill it my thoughts are he tried to kill it but the bear killed him. not sure about the gold glowing beer keg though. I will continue searching.

also found a blood trail leading to the cave where the fresh body is laying. forget to mention that.

try a remote explosive on it yet ?

i found a wheel barrow upside down by a dogs grave in john's region behind hope county clinic
chuck a remote bomb by it to move it .. and there was cash under there to loot

oh and a pink dog bone to collect .. dunno whats it does but i took it

Nice necro but this is the answer.

You need to kill the blissed out bear in the cave as part of one of Faith's quests. You get bliss exposed and the bear teleports around in the cave while you try to kill it. If you don't have the quest you can't do anything with the beer keg at the front of the cave.

Tried a remote explosive and tried shooting it, and the top pops of and beer sprays out.... Nothing out of the ordinary.
