My guess is they probably ran out of time.

Otherwise I don't see any reason to not include pretty much the standard set: P90, MP9, UMP etc.

No ♥♥♥♥, Im informed about this. But it will come with DLC which means that wepaon selection in this game is hot pile of garbage anyway. FOUR versiosn of AK, ♥♥♥♥ me, seriously.

I imagine that they will release more weapons later on which is fairly common now a days. Far Cry has historically had "limited" weapon selection. Compared to Wildlands yes this has much fewer weapons. I would like to see them add more as well and not just reskins. They also need to do some balancing. The 45-70 is abismal in terms of damge compared to what it should be. I want more variety, the sniper rifles, shotguns, smgs all need different stylings.

What is "major army"?
Nowadays the military has largely replaced submachine guns for short-barrel versions of their standard assault rifle. It’s very rare to see a military shooting a real submachine gun, like an MP5 on the battle field (usually NAVY SEALS only do, and during very special missions only. When this is the case, they usually use MP5s or MP7s).
The reason the military prefer to use short-barrel assault rifles rather than full-length ones, is that shooting over a certain range is an almost impossible task during most combat scenarios. A full-length barrel is necessary during long range shots only, which require the use of an optic, lying still on the ground, holding your breath and things like that. This is a very rare kind of shoot to make when you are at war. On the other side, a short-barrel assault rifle is faster to point and aim and, most of all, is lighter, which is very important for soldiers.
