Far Cry 5 reverse car , descend (plane/helicopter ) issue fixed / UPDATE 2024 FIX

Hello guys so this what worked for me regarding to the issue with cars not reversing and helicopters and airplanes not descending for both controllers PS4 and Xbox.

Step 1: Open Steam and then open big picture mode and make sure that your controller is working in big picture mode.

Step 2: Open Far Cry 5 once you get into the games menu in big picture mode click on manage game.

Step 3: In steam input go to controller options once the menu for controller options opens put Steam input pre-game settings to forced off.

Then have fun.

What this will basically do is the game will automatically open to the type of controller you are using. For example if you play the game with a PS4 controller the game will show all PS4 buttons and the same thing with the Xbox controller you will be playing the game just like in console. (no key bindings needed)

FarCry 5 Library page > Settings > Properties > Controller > Override for FarCry 5 set to DISABLE STEAM INPUT > Done Have Fun (CONTROLLER MUST BE WEIRD)

I've been playing going wtf, why doesnt this work or that. Oh well... Then I grabbed a helicopter! This game is unplayable!!!

Hey man, I just bought this game in 2021 and Ubi still hasn't fixed this ♥♥♥♥ yet. I tried your method but now the game won't recognize my controller at all. Any suggestions?

Hmm, it worked for me, when I changed Steam input pre-game settings from forced on to off, and then start the game again.

Hey bro i would recommend that you use a wired controller dose not matter what type it is xbox or ps4 just make sure that you change Steam input pre-game settings from forced on to off, and then start the game again.

Just for clarification, you have to stay in Big Picture mode for this method to work. If you change this setting and launch the game outside of Big Picture mode, the game won't recognize your controller.

You must be in Big picture mode in order to access the controller settings to calibrate the controller and change the key binds as you wish from there but make sure you are in the Far Cry5 game page to access the controller settings specifically for the game itself.
