as far as the forced missions there is a mod to lower the resistance points
see nexus mods
https://www.nexusmods.com/farcry5/mods/23
again if your resistance points go to high yes your gonna have deal with what happens ..
use a mod to lower that and deal with the story as it was written

is the game perfect ? .. no .. is it a great game ? .. YES !
I played FC5 and FC4 back to back and I am still sure that FC4 is more challenging overall in terms of action. To test this I constantly play about 1-2 hours on 5 then switch over to 4. There is much more difficulty at every level in 4 (except perhaps NG+ INF in 5) and I have now tested that on pretty well all the major battles. Also the detection rate in 4 when trying not to be spotted is higher. Last night I reset all the cult outposts to hostile again in 5 and took at least 5 of them out in about 30 mins, all with max bonus for no alarms and no detection. Much more difficult to do in 4 and I get killed much more often in 4, even when being as stealthy as I can be.
So, generally, my money is still on 4 for entertainment and engagement.
1. Cimb a tower.
2. Liberate 2/3 outposts.
3. Grind animals i can't find on their dedicated spot.
4. Do a story mission.
5. Repeat.
Then Far Cry 4 came around the corner and i actually liked it ALOT. It had all the guns Far Cry 3 had and added A LOT of new guns in to the mix. I (for some reason) liked Pagan Min better than Vaas but that's another story. But never the less; people didn't like FC4 because it was 'Just more of the same' so 4 installments later Ubisoft still didn't have a solid concept of what the FC Franchise should be. So FC5 was another experiment. And as such, if you don't like the main story of FC5; just go play the Arcade. Because the Arcade mode itself is worth a 10/10.
I loved Joseph Seed and i loved the main story, but if you didn't, it's propably because Ubisoft is still experimenting and still haven't found a solid concept.
