W10 Far and Cry 5 running fullscreen

I can't actually get the game to run in true fullscreen mode. I can tell this by alt tabbing out of the game and hovering the mouse over the FC5 tab on the taskbar and I can see the game running rather then seeing a blank black box. Anyone else's game behave the same way?

When you alt-tab, the game may automatically switch to borderless windowed mode. I'm not exactly sure. I long since disabled Win10's "fullscreen optimization" with a registry hack, so it may be something related to that if you haven't explicitly turned it off for the game or otherwise disabled it.

The easiest way to be sure you're running fullscreen that I've found is to enable DSR/VSR and see if those upscaled resolution modes work, because they simply will not work for any game in anything but exclusive fullscreen mode.

simple answer .. press alt + enter

thats a standard MS windows keyboard command to force an app to FULL SCREEN
