Should I keep the AR-C assault rifle or take the compound Bow

Honestly, the bow feels almost more like a mood weapon. Rifles are so much better.

The AR-C is ok first up, do some hunting and get the Whitetails AK-MS, its probably the best weapon besides the bow, which i always use and my trusty sidearm, the 1911. ( god i wish i could actually own one of those ).

AKM(s) is the way if yu want to stick to assault rifles. They can be customized pretty well, and are good at close to medium range.
The Bows are versitale in an other way. If you land the killing blow with a bow on wild aninmals you get 2 skins instead of 1 (or 4 if you have the relevant talent unlocked), it is silent, and has fire arrows (long rnaged molotvs basicly) along woth explosive ones (which turns it into an unorthodox grenade launcher), you have to adjust your aim tho as arrows "work" differently then bullets.

If you want to go for silent kills, pickup a 50 cal sinper with silencer on it. Kills all non VIP(crown)/heavy(shield) enemies with one bodyshot.

Yeah i like a bit of hardness about the game, that's why i use lower level weapons than the .50 cal, no point in playing a game if you make it too easy on yourself, plus i stalk animals a lot and get up close and personal with the peggies.

Well on new game+ infamous difficulty you are kinda forced for "overpwered" tactics as you die from 2-3 shots (unless you use the damage reduction drug) and stealth detection is broken, you get spotted almost instantly. On lower diffs you can of course mess around with different loadouts. If you can scout out/spot enemies beforehand it becomes more easy tho.

By the way if you have Jess Black with you animals will just ignore you until you attack them directly and she also uses a bow so you get more skins and can pickup her arrows (she has infinite ammo of course), which makes hunting super easy.

I doubt they will ever fix it, but until they improve follower commands, i'll stay solo.

My favorite layout....
Pistol: a silenced .45 1911. Would use slot for a bow if I could.
Long range: that gold .50 sniper. Marksman sight and silencer. Bows are nice, but the sniper is just OP. I like OP.
Heavy: locking homing rocket launcher.
All out combat: Lazer Spazer Annihilizer! Hey the game let me use it! If not that, I would have an LMG in that slot.

Once you pick up a weapon it becomes unlocked and available to you at any gun shop (free) so you don't have to worry about which one you keep, pick up the new one and try it out, it won't cost you anything to go back to the old weapon any time you want.

uses rifle ammo and can used to snipe long range, more deadlier than ar-c and any 0.308 carbines, only weaker against .50 cals but yeah, thats different ammo
