Seriously, there's a lot of customers with friends on different platforms.
Epic fail. Too siloed an approach and too monolithic.
So if there is ever going to be such functionality, expect it to be between Microsoft platforms initially (and potentially only).
ATM if you try and invite a PS4 player to a PC lobby it wont work as PC and PS4 have no way of seeing each others account systems. Thus the need for a 3rd party account system hosted outside the PS PC XB ecosystems.
So "ya'll" not got a clue what you're talking about @Enate.
For FarCry5 to be crossplatform co-op, they would need all systems to open a 3rd party account that would then host the lobbys regardless of systems. But fat chance of Ubi spending money on that when they dont need to.

Caveat: Yes, a PC player can "play" with a PS4 player on Rocket League, but only in private matches and not with other players. You can't party up and actually play with game modes with random people. That's hardly what anyone would consider cross platform play.
The platforms are in competition with eachother and will not co-operate. That's why there is no xbox in the PC/PS rocket league games.
The consoles are busy trying to kill each other off and the publishers are just enjoying the extra sales from people who bought the games on console but want to have it on PC
