I don't want to speak definitively, though I'm almost certain this will not be present in FC5.

That's a bummer. It would be a really cool feature if it's there.

I agree man, but first UBi would needed too talk with Microsoft. Since they are the only gaming company that has Cross Platform for their games, if UBI and Microsoft could get some sort of agreement. Mayby in a near future we could see it in Far Cry and mayby Assasins Creed too, but that is in a near future.
and whats about PS4? rocket league has ps4 support with crossplay so at least that should be able :steamhappy:

I like Cotton Candy.

Just saw this. Talk about a lost opportunity!
Seriously, there's a lot of customers with friends on different platforms.
Epic fail. Too siloed an approach and too monolithic.

Yeah, but Cotton Candy is unhealthy in large quantities. . . :rabiLaugh:

AFAIK the PS4 version of Rocket League does not support cross-platform play. In fact, most multi-platform games with cross-platform support only do so thanks to the ease at which developers can link Windows 10 and Xbox infrastructure, and the fact that so many cross-platform games are developed by Microsoft subsidiaries (Gears of War, Sea of Thieves for example).

So if there is ever going to be such functionality, expect it to be between Microsoft platforms initially (and potentially only).

Man, ya'll in here lying so hard PS4 has several games that are crossplay with PC. I can't even take some of ya'll seriously. An yes crossplay PS4 and PC includes Rocket League for the people that felt the need to lie about that.

PS4 and PC are NOT able to join the same lobby and play together in the same party. RL are still working on their own crossplay lobby system but PC, PS4 and XB1 would all need RL accounts to join a single party.
ATM if you try and invite a PS4 player to a PC lobby it wont work as PC and PS4 have no way of seeing each others account systems. Thus the need for a 3rd party account system hosted outside the PS PC XB ecosystems.
So "ya'll" not got a clue what you're talking about @Enate.

For FarCry5 to be crossplatform co-op, they would need all systems to open a 3rd party account that would then host the lobbys regardless of systems. But fat chance of Ubi spending money on that when they dont need to.

It's not lying at all... In fact, it's one of the easiest things to fact check in the world rofl.

Caveat: Yes, a PC player can "play" with a PS4 player on Rocket League, but only in private matches and not with other players. You can't party up and actually play with game modes with random people. That's hardly what anyone would consider cross platform play.

It's 'able' but will never happen apart from special cases like rocket league.
The platforms are in competition with eachother and will not co-operate. That's why there is no xbox in the PC/PS rocket league games.
The consoles are busy trying to kill each other off and the publishers are just enjoying the extra sales from people who bought the games on console but want to have it on PC
