Why am I getting so many red trinkets, necklaces, and charms?
Does anyone know the actual drop rate for red weapons? It feels like for every generals/emperor's vault I open that contains a red, 9 times out of 10 it's a worthless trinket, necklace, or charm.

Why is the drop rate for reds so skewed? Is it actually pushed more towards these items on purpose? If so, why?

I'm just having a really hard time believing that. I mean, my luck cannot be THAT bad to have roughly 80-85% of my red drops being necklaces, trinkets, and charms.

The issue imo is that they are different trinkets, charms and necklace types (just going by their icons) and each of them counts as its own seperate item type even tough functionally they are exactly the same and the only thing that matters is where they are slotted.

Heck at least in vt1 the trinkets had visual representations on your character's body. That's not the case anymore in vt2. So yes its kind of annoying that they only really useful to turn into dust after you get enough of them for build variety.

I wouldn't even have a problem with this if upgrading to a red granted you the veteran skin of the weapon, but it doesn't. The grind in this game is just too much.

Yes I hear you brother it sucks. Be nice if the game would let you stop getting any trinkets whatsoever once you got enough. As is it just gets in the way of getting all the red weapon skins. I just relatively got started so I'm using them to make my dlc weapons red so it isn't so bad right now but once I got all that out of the way and just would like to get the rest of the red weapons I'm missing... yes that's going to suck big time.

I think it's partly because every character needs these things as well as weapons so the game weights them more than weapon drops. Sure, most builds are going to use identical ones but I don't think the developers care about that.

Plus, you can always break them down in order to make weapons and legendary DLC weapons don't generally drop from chests so you're going to need a bit of dust to make them.

Either way, yes, it's a lot of grinding and the loot system in general just absolutely sucks. For that matter so do most of the talents, yet somehow this game has persisted through sheer gameplay.

Amen brother. At the end of the day it's not that important unless you obsess over it. Reds just mean you can spend less resources to get the stats you want and honestly I'm not a huge fan of the glow in the dark stuff that makes the red weapon skins 'special'. It does look cool on some weapons but on others its just tacky as hell.

Had the same experience and i think most of us did. Charms and stuff take 3 of the 5 slots so i guess if the % are the same its natural they drop "more often".

After you get used to this look forward for finding the exact type of red weapon you want. Love the feeling of hoping for an Axe and getting your 16th hagbane bow...

I think Fatshark should consider one of two options for red dust/red weapons.

1. Make red dlc weapons drop like all other red weapon drops (Might have to adjust the chance of red weapon drops since the pool of possible weapon drops will be larger).

or

2. Give 5 red dust for free with every dlc career purchased (make it retroactive for those who already bought the careers).
Since all the dlc weapons have to be crafted it's just a huge increase in red dust needed.

3. Reduce the red dust cost of DLC weapons to 2 or 3.

I guess it kind of wasn't much of a issue in the beginning since back then we only had Back to Ubersreik with 5 weapons in total, but now we have 27 DLC weapons in total (5 from BtU, 5 from WoM, 5 from Forgotten Relics, 6 from GK/OE/SoT combined and another 6 from WP alone), and that would require a total of 135 red dust to craft.

Besides, we already paid real money for these weapons, so I can't see why they can't be cheaper crafting-wise.

the necklace and trinkets aren't great, but alot of endgame builds require specific charm setups for breakpoints so stockpiling red charms is kinda good.

No.
#1 Will simply bloat drop table even more, without any serious benefit - you'll just worsen grind for every weapon, including DLC ones.
You get red skins for DLC weapons through quests, so no big issue here anyway. If you want perfect stats fast just roll a perfect orange. Might be annoying, but faster than collecting dust. Due to a lot of red trinkets/necklaces/charms you'll get red dust anyway.
No need or reason to speed things up dramaticaly.
That's why #2 is bad too - it will promote bad habits.

They should have brought back a modified quest system from VT1 to help get those hard to get reds because just due to RNG it becomes nigh impossible to get the last few reds that aren't in your collection if you really set on having 100% of all the reds.

Or some other way to get a particular red you got your eyes set on. Like one per week at the very least of doing quests or what not.

Yeah adding them to the loot table would be horrible. It's a lot easier to get the red skins either from doing the necessary challenge or in the newest ones they just give them to you period for you know... buying the weapon in the first place.

We just need a way to be able to get the red weapons we want after doing x amount of quests or challenges or just a set number of quick matches played. Eliminate a bit of the RNG just like the quest board did for VT1.
