Halberd vs. Executioner's Blade

Opinions now that the executioner's blade is no longer giving those ghost swings? Having experimented with the two, I am beginning to believe it may now be superior to the halberd in many ways.

On legend, halberd still has faster elite killing potential and choke point control. EB has better control if you are pinned at a wall with your group and need to deal with 180 degrees of enemies in front of you. But even then... halberd will dispatch the elites that would otherwise stop your blade as you are swinging, and it would do so while cutting down other enemies, where as EB charged attack is dedicated to the single target itself and leaves you open for a moment.

Pick ES when others in group have weak horde clear. Berd for default

I like Executioner more (more fun), but Halberd is better.

Hrm. I can definitely still see the merit in the halberd. I'll never understand why the made that particular weapon so fast.

They had that problem at launch with V1 in regards to 2h swords... they nerfed the ever living crap out of them shortly after and never looked back.. even in the sequel.

Yet I guarantee you we will never see the halberd get touched at all.

halberd pretty op with block cancel cleaves clears hordes like no ones buisness, and the chop chop combo which wrecks any armored. Pretty sure halberd > then all other kruber melee atm

It would be nice if they would take it upon themselves to buff the greatsword into being competitive with the halberd, but I suspect that's never happening.

No comparison. Halberd is greatly superior in overall effectiveness and usefulness.

Ex. Sword can be very good against hordes that is true because of its attack pattern, and its charged attack if headshot can instakill Elites even at legend.

But in overall efficency and viability, Halberd still is a much better choice.

in comparison, EB feels better against hordes, which is not a big deal because halberd could also easily slaughter a horde with crit + atk speed trait.
with elites, EB heavy attack does tons of dmg, and so does halberd push attack, which is faster and more versatile.
so I guess halberd is better under most cases, still EB looks very cool and I'm always looking for a good EB illusion...
