players with open lobby but afk
Well I have to remake this post because the previous one was deleted. Probably because I linked the guys profile even though that's not against the rules since it's a public steam profile and the rules CLEARLY state no personal information - steam profile are public and not personal at all.

There are some players who make a quick play lobby and then go afk forever.
It's a big problem from a fun perspective as it makes it frustrating to find games. As the game will keep putting you back into that same lobby.

I won't suggest how to fix it or what other problems may or may not be a reason.
If you want to know the player in question you can look up the delete logs from my previous thread.

Please fix this asap.

You have access to approved mods in the steam workshop for a problem such as this. If you dont use mods its your problem.

Linking the profile is indeed why the thread was deleted. It has nothing to do with actual personal information, but rather it's about pointing fingers and painting someone in a negative light, regardless of whether they appear to deserve it or not. The thread would not have been deleted had you simply removed the profile link, which I waited an hour for you to do so but to no avail. In many other forums the thread would have been deleted ASAP with no given explanation. I have a genuine distaste for deleting comments (and especially entire threads) but not editing the post forced my hand. Here is the rule in case you overlooked it:

Naming and shaming constitutes harassment
Accusing named or otherwise identified individuals, etc. of dishonourable behaviour, will lead to post/thread deletion and a suspension. While such warnings may sometimes be warranted, allowing targeting of others in such a fashion is open to abuse and thus not allowed. You may present your point of view while preserving the anonymity of those involved, and let the reader decide whether to contact you for details.

I think I made a post a long time ago in a similar thread where Quick Play kept placing someone into a lobby of someone AFK. My suggestion was that they should have the game cancel someone's matchmaking queue if that player (as host) is inactive for 5~10 minutes, which I think is the only way they could possibly "fix" this situation. Obviously that didn't happen which means there's not much they can do right now as an immediate solution.

Anyway, there's a couple of things you can do yourself as a workaround for the time being. Here's the copy/paste of my comment from your previous thread:

As for the topic at hand, I don't think there's much that can be done about this person. I mean, did he say anything when you joined or was just sitting there idle? It's possible he irresponsibly went AFK for a long period after hosting a lobby.

Pretty much your only options that I can think of are to either join a different match through the lobby browser (which I know means no Quick Play bonus for that match) or host a game yourself. To host a game yourself you can either play as the same hero the person you're referring to has selected or you can use a mod to host QP games yourself at will.

So, if you keep getting the same afk lobby I've got a spicy idea for you:
Join with a player killing build and go to town. If they are actually afk there's no harm done since they aren't doing anything anyway. Every character except Kruber does really well in the PK department and if they have bots just down one, keep shooting the other to prevent a res(just just kill after res), kill the other bot, down the afk, then go get downed yourself and leave before the game goes back to lobby.

I do use mods.
Which mod is it that would avoid this problem?

No, they are sitting in the keep.

Sorry, I don't check this non-stop, steam doesn't give pop-up notifications, etc....
I looked a bit more at those rules.... Can't talk about locked threads even though there is no way to see the reason why it was deleted? .....lol, man, horrible designed forums just makes moderators jobs harder. How come your reason for deletion is not shown my steams top right notification thing? Forums need to be very user friendly or they eventually stop getting used.

But whatever, you didn't delete this thread it's all good. I got my answer.

Yeah, I agree that the forums are not well designed. It's always annoying to see a comment notification but you don't even get to read what it was because the thread was deleted (or even simply moved). Also, not sure if you saw it or not, but the person you linked in the previous thread actually commented there and apologized for having narcolepsy. Whether or not that's true is hard to say, but for what it's worth I thought you should know in case you missed it.

Your action is called name calling. For example, your classmates in school all know about your name, but one day suddenly a guy in school knows about it and spread it out on a forum without any harm means. Now every bullies in the world came looking for you cuz whatever reasons.
That must be fun. Obviously your name is not top secret for people in school.

It shows up when you are actually warned or banned. Not when a thread is just deleted without any moderation action taken against the poster.
