Each hero receives a new weapon, which is available through Okri's Challenges, for owners of Back to Übersreik. Kruber receives a Mace and Sword. Bardin gets new Dual Hammers. Kerillian's been good this year, and get a one-handed Elven Axe. Saltzpyre gets an Axe and Falchion. And Sienna receives a flaming Crowbill. Each of these weapons can be used by all careers of their hero, and each weapon has two additional weapon illusions. These illusions become available by completing specific Okri's Challenges using that weapon.

1h axe for the elf feels just wrong. It's just like giving a 1h sword to the dwarf...
A whip like the one used by the sister of slaughters would have been cooler and way more thematic.

Axes for Elves is right by Lore as seen with the Wood Elves and the White Lion of the High Elves.
But I agree Swords for Dwarfes is a disgrace and should never happen.

Well, White lions use 2H axes (that are really close to the glaives anyway) and the ONLY 1H axe I can see in the WE is the one used by the Wildwood Warden (the Ranger captain)... so ... Yeah, I stand corrected, that do exist.

Glaive is not actually an axe, they just made wrong model for the game.

Dwarves in Warhammer do use swords, but it's more rare. They're usually magic weapons imbued with runes.

They also forge swords for allies. The Elector Counts of the Empire each carry a dwarven gromril sword enchanted with rune magic being the best example. Sometimes the dwarves will even give swords to elves.

If you're talking about White Lions, they do use Axes. The Figures from 8th edition and Art feature plenty of axes and even two-headed great axes.
