VERY IMPORTANT 1.3 MODDING SUPPORT
it is rumored that Fluppi has a roadmap for modding support when the game is in 1.3. this is a very important rumor especially if it's true.

here is how i would go about doing this. BEWARE THIS IS V E R Y LONG LOL and LOOK AT THE END you dont have to read ANY of this just read my notes at the end.

CUSTOM BRICKS
Blender-like thing sort of. i dont know, fluppi can do this any way he wants for custom models, as long as they're available to make in the game itself.

game objects can be attached to these bricks such as effect emitters, scripts, and more. scripts would have a simple language like Lua and that would just translate into the code the game uses already. effect emitters and other game objects that would possibly be toggled cannot be turned on unless in a script (which would usually be for a gun).

brick types would be selectable. this would go off their category. for example, gun category if it were a gun.

gun categories would have default effects depending on their size but they can be swapped.
gun fire rates would be customizable in scripts, so on and so fourth. anything you want the brick to do you can make it do with scripts.

CUSTOM MAPS
very simple blender-like map construction. you can customize the amount of dots in the map making it more complex or less, sort of like a game that ahem ahem i cannot mention because the mods would insta-take this down :/, anyway, you could multi-select dots by dragging or manual clicking or just click one. you can choose if these are going to have blocky connections or smooth connections. (basically, for an example, blocky would have WAY less triangles in it and would be a lot less preformance heavy, and would also show up as a blocky mountain if you dragged a dot up, while smooth on the other hand looks like a real mountain but has TONS of triangles and of course is more preformance heavy)

maps can be assigned water, scripts, and effect emitters, as well as events. events would be things like "oh look a player stepped into an area, lets trigger a specific type of script called an event script that would only turn on if the event was triggered which it is right now!" This can be used for many things such as bloom in some spots perhaps?

CUSTOM MISC ITEMS
Sounds
self explanatory. the user would have to make this outside of the game as this would be physically impossible to make ingame, but the game can run while they do so and they can just drag and drop the sound into the game after pressing a button that i'll get into in the next h3.

Effects
Yeah, also made outside of the game, but can also be drag-and-dropped into the game while it's running too. the menu for this one will have useful advice on how to make an effect which we'll get into.

Other
have a suggestion? let me know! im pretty sure something was supposed to go here, but i forgot, of course.

MENUS

on the main menu there would be a "mods" button in the style of the other buttons.

upon click, this menu would lead to a bunch of other buttons but they aren't in the style of the usual menu buttons, instead being a bunch of square buttons taking the entire screen up, with pictures (and below them text stating which is which)

Bricks and maps
Self explanatory. You click, you go into their editors.

Effects and Sounds

Effects
clicking the button for effects would lead to a screen with an ability to drag-and-drop a PNG file. it would be at the bottom, with text at the top that takes up most of the screen:
"To make a custom effect, I suggest [whatever you, fluppi, suggest. can be multiple suggestions.] and have links to them at the bottom. i would personally prefer you to make them use Paint 3D as its useful to make textures and is already in windows PC's.

Sounds
leads to a screen like effects, but this time, drag and drop is most of the screen, with at the top a small note that you cannot make one ingame and must use an audio creation/editor software.

SERVER AND HANDSHAKING
server creation menus would have a scroll menu at the bottom with all the mods from the steam workshop that they have subscribed to, with ones they've published at the very top. you cannot select mods that you are currently developing to put in the server, as they would be greyed out with text over them stating you cannot use them in multiplayer unless you publish them (when you do, they ungrey)

clients would auto-download the mods of course, just like garrys mod and space engineers, which is why you cant use mods that arent published as that would be in your local computer, something they cant download.

clients would get said warnings that would be listed below before joining:

warnings can stack by the way! just number them.

warning 1: this server is modded

warning 2: this server has 2-6 gigabytes of downloaded mods

warning 3: this server has 6-10 gigabytes of downloaded mods

warning 4 would occur after 10 gigabytes of mod data stating that the server has an unusually high mod size and that it may take up a nice space of storage.

(Edit!) ADDITIONAL MODDING SUPPORT
Before you do ANYTHING about creating a mod, you would have 3 buttons.

Button 1: Singular Mod (Add a single mod, effect, sound, map, and anything else.)

Button 2: Bundle (This sets the game into a mode, until you exit it, anything you mod into the game will be apart of one big mod, so basically multiple effects, sounds, guns, etc again..)

Button 3: Collection (This button will allow you to multi-select different mods then when you're done attempt to make a collection of your name and description with a thumbnail on steam with all of these mods.)


Writer's Notes
this would perm change the game for what i think is the better. mods couldnt crash servers by bad actors as the host is the one deciding the mods. if the server crashes, its on them for downloading a server-crashing mod. there is also a (low chance, al-be-it) that it could be malicious. moderators might have to over-work to see if theres any mods that break modding rules (is the mod inappropriate?)

this REALLY needs to get out there and to fluppi as it is super important especially if the rumors ARENT rumors and are in fact reality that 1.3 will have modding support.

That was me. I went to the effort of not thoroughly reading the stuff you said before I put a comment, but then I did read the stuff more thoroughly and my comment became redundant.

I'm pretty sure it isn't. Mods already exist, it's really just making them easier to access and download.

yes. they already do exist

but the rumors are that 1.3 will add official modding support that makes it a lot easier

how they will go about this is unknown. if this doesnt get to fluppi here are my guesses what will happen:

A: he will somehow do this anyway (possible because its a good plan, and as they say, great minds think alike)

B: steam workshop support for mods will start existing

C: some sort of out of game editor for mods.

I don't think it's gonna be Workshop support for mods. Not from what I can tell, anyway.

I don't think it's gonna be Workshop support for mods. Not from what I can tell, anyway.
if this VALUABLE piece of plan doesnt get to him, probably will be.

in the case that it is steam workshop, brick rigs would likely have custom MapLoader3 built into it.

maybe improve that part for the bricks into a editor and the maps in the map selector with a modded maps option that can be hidden and then shown again

oh the mods over-do their job they just dont chill at all, so i cant mention it ANYWHERE or else i get warned and everything.
