do you have 2 actuators on each side of the turret?

if so one actuator needs to be an opposite speed to the other. if the speed on one was 2, the other would be -2

look at actuators from things people have already made and go from there

Before you place an actuator in a build make a reusable test platform for testing and do tests on it, after you are sure you have it working the way you intend then add it to your build, you can do this with all sorts of interactables before you bury them in a build.

Also if something doesn't move after you tested it then you probably have connectors connecting, they do have a certain reach and you must figure out how to make something operational without surfaces connecting, turn off the virtual connectors on one or both faces of parts that must not stick together. Sometimes you have to build elaborate support bypassing parts you don't want to connect to eachother. Blah blah blah, pre-testing, blah blah blah, experimenting, blah blah blah, learning as you go.
