Welding or Gluing bricks to others?

Can you weld bricks to others when they're white like in garry's mod? I have an interesting design but can't execute it without that option. Any help is appreciated.

Yea like when you place an object and it snaps when its green and when it doesnt snap its white I think thats if its connected.

You can't really "weld" bricks together, but you can connect them to each other. If the bricks are highlighted in green when you try to move them, it means that they are connected. But, if a brick is highlighted in white, that means you have selected the brick.

This game doesn't use a parenting system so you have to have an unbroken chain of connected bricks, there is a fudge factor built in so they can be slightly separated visually but they must technically be connected. The fudging is done by turning off snapping.

So do I just stick a brick inside another?

Yes but everything must be connected somehow, the secret to the creations in the workshop is what is behind the outer shell supporting those bricks at all those interesting angles.
