Brick Rigs

Sensor info??
So, I've been fiddling with these things, on and off, for a few months now and still haven't been able to figure them out.

I created a machine gun on the first day of their patch, but beyond automatic weapons, their other uses seem to elude me.

For instance, I want to make an auto-hovering vehicle:

In the picture above, I have the sensor set to "distance to ground" at -1 to infinity. The input is on channel 0, which I can control by default... right? Upon inputting Action 1, I assume it activates the output command on teh sensor, which activates the settings I created. The Output is set to channel 1, which is the same channel that the selected rocket is also on. The rocket is set to "custom" input on channel 1.

My brain says that everythign looks right and makes sense - that when I press Action 1, the sensor will turn on, detect the ground and run the Output command, turning the rocket on.

NOPE!

I can't figure out what part of this equation isn't working. Or am I chasing ghosts here and sensors not designed to do these things or control rockets yet?

Sensors cannot take input. You cannot turn then on/off manually at all.
The settings you have there will never work for making something hover. Try making the sensor have a maximum setting of 4 and a minimum of 6. Thus *should* run the thrusters at a height of 4 metres at max power and gradually reduce power untill it reaches an altitude of 6 metres. Depending on the weight of the vehicle, it will probably either bounce like crazy and barely work or hover around 5 metres.
Lemme ping someone on the Discord servee who does a lot of sensor stuff and see if they can help a bit better.
Thanks... messed with it for another 15 minutes and failed. It spontaneously worked once, between respawns in garage when I literally did absolutely nothing to change the settings... and then it stopped.

I miss the original "click, highlight and DONE", version of sensors :(
