The Physics of Explosions
I bought Brick Rigs cause I thought it would be possible to make something like that:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fu6MIHz_RnA

But what I get is huge fireballs with almost no effect on the bricks - even if I stack many bombs into each other.

My question to the devs: Is it possible to turn the fire-effects off and to lower the adhesion of the bricks, so they fall apart easier?
And is there a mode ingame where you can kick bricks around like in the main menu?

Thank You,
Michael

change the contents of the tanks to C4 and change the material of the bricks to foam

Thanks StingerPanda,

but that did not help. I think the problem lies:
1. in my construction - the tower I want to explode is basically a hollow box with the bomb in the middle - and
2. the way air pressure, or pressure waves, are NOT beeing simulated.

Any hints?

try the Beta, I know that explosions can no longer go through bricks, so maybe the same physics would help here

Ah, a fellow Michael.
Hi, Michael.

If your looking for air pressure simulation this isn't the game for that
and i wouldn't know where to find a game like that

Thanks for the answers.
I'm not looking for an air pressure simulation, I just want to understand how explosions work here. Do all the bricks have to be connected to the bomb to receive some immidiat effect?
So it would propably help to fill the whole tower witch bricks.

Michael

From what I can tell, explosions work based on the distance from the origin and block between the explosion and object affected. Each brick has a strength, based on how many studs on it are connected to another brick. More studs connected = more strength. So for bricks to explode like that, they would need to be loosely connected to each other, and reasonably close to the explosion.
