Multiplayer not working?
Anyone else not able to join Multiplayer games?
Or will it not let me due to a low internet speed?

I have the same bug with joining. If I do a server my friend couldn't join. (Private or not is not important)
But when he did a server on private it didn't work for me to join either.
Then he did an not private server and I could join, but also lots of other people.
So I think the best way is to create an non private server but only allowing 2,3,4 ... people so only your friends can join and then its full.
Internet speed shouldn't be a problem.

I cna see why the Private didn't work. There has been issues with that for some time now, but I just can't join MP lobbies period.
Always errors.

Is there a way to differentiate between a private and public lobby? Because I might not have been looking for it and the ones tha come up are just private lobbies anyways.

You can do a private or a non private lobby. Go to Play and then a little sign on multiplayer and tick word private if you want to. If it's private other players won't be able to see it when they go on server browser.

I know how to create a lobby, but when I go to join one., the only ones on the list are publiuc ones?

If you host a private server it will not be listed, in order to join the host needs to send invites to his friends via the steam overlay. There have been issues with this in the past but since the last update it should work.

ah, that makes sense. Been having issues joining open MP, but that's probably becasue my internet is a joke...

In older releases it was possible for me to join servers. Now i get allways "failed to join server!". If I create a server some people can join, but not everyone.
