Bug with the kraken (small spoil alert)

hi i m currently running my first playthrough of this game, i done to the point where i have to fight the kraken in some sort of cove, the fight start normally, i make the kraken appear at the surface of water, i ve deal some damage like 10 % of his health, but know nothing happen at all i can fire my mortar, move around my crew but the kraken won't appear anymore. so is that a bug or did i just miss something to do in this fight ?

Do you remember the attack he did before he stopped appearing?

yep he have headbutted my ship and then disappear ! but anyway i have exited the game yesterday, and this morning the game put me back to the beginning of the fight, with no bug this time ^^

Thanks - just to clarify was this from underneath (i.e. the attack where he splashes up out of the water?) or when he was coming straight for you?

the attack when he splashes up out of the water, not the one where he come from the top of the screen.
Anyway it was not a major issue for my playthrough, just exiting and reloading the game make it work again !

Thanks for the confirmation - someone else reported a similar bug, and as you've both confirmed the previous attack was what we call the "Deep Dive", I imagine it's failing going to an attack coming out of this particular one so it should make it easier for me to track it down now :)

Apologies for reviving this thread but I faced the same bugged Kraken a while ago.

I remember the Kraken was on the third position from the ship where he had the tentacles raised (His head was outside the water). I hit him with a mortar. So the kraken flipped to dive back into the water and just as he was doing that, my flaming shot cannon that I fired a little after the mortar hit his tentacles.

From then on the Kraken decided to stay underwater never to surface again. I reckon he's probably enjoying eating his freshly barbecued tentacles...
Didn't have to load a previous save, fled the battle and the Kraken chased me to commence the battle again.
