I am failing to see the benefit of risking crew or gold when diving for logs. When you enter a port, it auto saves. You can only use the logs as a save in a port. What's the point? Honestly, I quit rolling the dice. Doesn't seem worth it to me.

When using a log u get a permanent save(ultil u use another) and u may as well gain gold sometimes in other hand if u depend on the autosaving u cam come to a point that u are forced to die or go on stranded boat mode ( if u have one) and some ppl likes to avoid that,there are as well zones with certain climates that makes i belive 100% secure to dive for the most or nearly.Personally i agree with u and most of the times logs arent even neceseary and some ppl simply collect em like thropies even thou strangely i eard from some others rants about the saving system , that they dont like it and that there arent many logs ... when in fact the world its full of em( if they simply dont explore or step out the main route of the storie in the main campaing not my fault neither the devs one in my opinion), i do ofc respect their opinions on the subject but i belive that points like that one comes out of beeing new , not knowing the game , the mechanics involved or even taking 2 minutes to trie to learn and improve in the pacing and combat wich in fact isnt that tought to do so, but what shoud i expect when atm most of the archvmnts that i got for now including defeating the kraken tells me that the percentage of players that have em is around 2% or most of em bellow 1% , have a good day and enjoy the game

Captains logs create manual saves, when you die you can load these saves back up. If you don't use them and die you will lose a lot of progress.

in hard core mode u really die easy and its so important to have a good permoment safe every couple of hours. not like u can find a lot of those in hard core anyway

why cant saving be a playerbased choice?.. i lost my first battle against the kraken, and are beated all the way back to the start of the game... loseing the entire progress and will to play this game... should be my choice, when where and how often to safe.. or at least be a gameoption... :(
