A note to the devs: perhaps this could be pinned or alternatively placed in a sub-thread entitled "Bugs/Issues".
Huge spam of enemies in one location just ruins stealth, because there is no room to avoid detection as enemies are everywhere and you avoid one and 10 more detect you and then game turns into Benny Hill show ending when you run away... just without that music:

Placement of enemies is not smart, its pretty random, you have to not just reduce their numbers and make sure that player can walk by without detection but you also has to change placement of enemies.
You are killing game potential to be a stealth game by turning it into some dumb zombie chase run and gun.
I'm assuming that you have the same problem as the OP i.e. black loading screen at beginning of the game as you land on the planet ?
If so, this can be resolved by running Dxsetup, which is shipped with most games by default. Go to your ECHO installation folder and look for a directory that contains Dxsetup.....typically found in "CommonRedist" (redistributables). There should be a Directx subfolder.....run Dxsetup contained in that folder, which then installs potentially missing Directx components.
Alternatively, you could go here (from July, 2017):

Have you been actually able to finish the game using the gun all the time? imo, if theres one thing this game has done very good is level design and enemy placement: isnt random at all, by the way: thats why you can plan different strategies to take them out, or even avoid them.
imo, the only serious flaw it has is how slowly the story starts because many players might lack patience to play enough to reach the actual challanges that are after the tutorial-like levels in the first episode.
i hope theres a second game one day, or an updated "re-imagined" version with a more complex palace and many more new options to explore it (ie, a 3d metroidvania like experience could be awesome, or even having a colloseum option to face more players and ai according to the lore of the game).
