Is the multiplayer still alive?
Wondering if the multiplayer is still alive. I borrowed it on xbox from a friend and had a blast on the multiplayer. Wondering if it's alive on PC. It's on a huge sale on GMG and might grab the DLC along with it (For the gamemodes and weapons only though)

Do you happen to know any groups?

SM multiplayer is... somewhat alive. More so on the weekends, and doubly so if you're European (which seems to comprise the bulk of the playerbase I see any more). The player population jumps in the evening, obviously, so that would be the best time to cruise for games; if you work night shift or such, you probably won't see much action.

As for groups... well, I know Warrior Nation (WNx) will accept any one/thing with a pulse, it seems, and are global, but aren't very personable from what I've seen. Your results may vary. I wish I knew who to point you to so you can express interest, but I don't keep up with their leadership changes anymore. It may or may not be WNx Biohazard or WNx Hakan.

Other groups are Grey Knights (-GK-) who are our resident elistist and most of them are pretty unpleasant, as you might guess. Alpha and Omega (A&O) are Eastern European, as far as I know, so knowing Russian is probably a requirement. Same for 'ferreus', but those guys aren't too nice anyway. Sons of Lork (SoL) may or may not be looking for people, and seem to be open-door as far as geography is concerned. I'd say talk to SoL Capt Scott or SoL LORK and see where that gets you, if anywhere. SoL is pretty nice, in my experience, now that their resident whiner left. Last and most certainly least is //Fe, but we're not really looking for more people.

I see. I'll check up on these guys when the game hits a sale.
I've got a chance to get this game for really cheap from a guy I know. I wanna know if I should get it?

I also just bought this game about an hour ago. Was wondering the same thing, installing it as now as I'm typing this. Hopefully I'll get to join a multiplayer match or two.

This game is boss and good fun but i think not having a server browser kills it a bit :( i am always sad when i see fps without server browser, it really doesnt make sence to use an automatcher for an fps.

So I did trade for it and the multiplayer is alive. Isn't dead so that's great but man the difference between new and older players is HUGE. Still the fun I remembered on the Xbox so that's all good. Although I'm a bit confused on how I have all the Chaos legion armor unlocked even the ones that are dlc and yet the Space Marines are all locked.

Im not saying it is 100% dead but im just saying the auotmatcher doesnt help with things. You cant really sort out clans vs clan matches ect because of it. FPS need server browser and if this game had one i do think it would be much more popular.

Hell i would have set up a clan if it did.

Could always just make a private match.

Yes i see what your saying but your kinda missing the point im making :D

Lets take tf2 for an example, if you in a clan you go play on other clans server just to see what they are like and how good they are. That is how i got into lots of clan matches, ok yes they are more like friendlys but still.

Normaly playing in peoples severs starts a sort of trash talk or banter thats would turn into a clan vs clan match at a later date. Im just saying its harder to do that with an automatcher.

Problem with this game is that it hasn't seen any new content for ages(probably never will again), THQ went bust(its publisher), and it's basically been abandoned by everyone that created it. This means its days are numbered. It's also without any ability to create your own maps for Horde mode or PvP, meaning it'll get stale. Games like NS2 continue to thrive because they still have active development, and others such as KF or L4D have Steamworks and custom maps to play. If you don't already own this game at this point; I can't recommend getting it now.
